they really can. someone simulated what cs players have heard during Cologne games, if the crowd was to suddenly go AAAAAA then you definitely know that something is happening . https://youtu.be/Z5XUjYa6tNQ?si=cQ9XByrpLhZw_FCR watch here, the players can definitely hear when the crowd suddenly gets loud, and they have the gamesense, it immediately alerts them that they need to be afraid of lurks

basically you have situations where a player would assume the cam is on him in a 1v1, he would glide his cross hair over a position and the crowd would erupt, so he almost has a guarantee of a guy being there
