There was rumors about one of their main sponsors (BC.GAME) shutting down. Tanmay reported about this, but deleted it minutes later, which makes me think that it wasn't true

Just because Cloud9 doesn't spend a lot of money, doesn't mean they're at risk of bankruptcy or frauds. At the end of the day, they compete in a lot of games, so it makes sense they try to use a "small" budget as much as possible

Cloud9 pays higher salaries than most EMEA, PAC, and CN orgs. That's what competing in Americas has

LOUD doesnt have financial issues they just dont want to pay their players

Not paying your players is, precisely, what I would call financial issues

they dont lack the money, they just dont want to pay their players a competitive salary which is why Felipe is leaving

and you are basing that purely off of finances, yeah? I don't know if that's still the case, but apeks had to put their cs division on hold and were actively seeking to sell their players to ''secure the future of the company'' https://www.hltv.org/news/39086/apeks-put-cs-division-on-hold

I'm aware of this. But there's been no rumours about them not paying players, struggling to pay players, or huge financial losses (as far as I know)

Riot literally pays you to compete in tier-1, so it makes sense that they invest all they have to reach franchising

I'm sure that Apeks will return to CS as soon as they get the profit

oh yeah, that's a different grade of financial struggles, apeks is very mild in comparison. I feel like apeks could have theoratically come up with a roster to compete for Shanghai, but it would be hard (eu has 13 slots, 6 of them are almost guaranteed for tournament winners in navi, faze, mouz, g2, spirit, vitality, then you have stronger teams like ef, vp, c9, saw, up and comers like passion UA and b8 so it's just tough to compete for stickers.

They even have their own bootcamp (which is really rare to see coming from a tier-2 org)

They have fired a bunch of staff in the middle of the year, but firing it's better than not paying

It looks like the put the player commodity on top of everything

tbf I feel like we will see more orgs like apeks, just focusing on one game and then slowly spreading when finances are better

KOI is a good candidate this year in EMEA, maybe liquid too.

liquid are probably one of the few orgs in the world breaking even/going positive

I'm only putting orgs that struggle finacially/mistreat employees

KOI is the combination of Movistar Riders, MAD Lions, and KOI itself. There's been no rumors about them being a shitty org

Same goes for Liquid, they are one of, if not, the biggest esport org, and there's no rumors/complains

geng not wanting to invest good in their valorant roster is so weird after they had banger 2024 year and also a trophy, but yeah i mean their league of legends roster is pretty expensive in itself, chovy canyon peyz all expensive players so it might make sense them not investing in valorant that much

I wouldn't be surprise if they sign 3 rookies with a contract until 2028

Geng invested decently according to their owner, they just didn’t offer higher salaries after GenG won
