I kinda wonder why there aren't much African Americans playing competitive Valorant or any fps games in NA region?

I would assume its the cultural backgrounds and education differences since I dont think Africa is big on Esports

another factor is i think console gaming is more popular among that demographic than pc gaming but that’s just my train of thought

Basketball is cheaper than PC

realistically the barrier of entry money-wise is pretty significant for competitive PC games and black people in america do not make up a large portion of upper class people
you can get into the whole weeds of why that is(starts with o and rhymes with compression) but that's kind of how we get here in any case

More of a culture difference. There are a lot of black gamers in Fortnite or Gta online. Just like how Asians tend to play MOBA games ig. Very generalized statements really with nothing to back it up other than personal experience.

Ik a lot of T2-3 African American players. What I will say is that I have heard from some players that they can’t get trials with good T2 teams because of the players not the orgs.

They play nba 2k and call of duty

I think its just cultural, educational differences due to the amount racism which also leads into economical differences
