Patryk "starxo" Kopczynski announced that he is entering free agency, leaving KOI KOI Europe Rank #41 grubinho Grzegorz Ryczko sheydos Bogdan Naumov Filu Dawid Czarnecki flyuh Xavier Carlson soulcas Dom Sulcas after two seasons with the Spanish organization.
The Polish player said that he is an unrestricted free agent, meaning his contract was either terminated or came to an end. He says that he is comfortable with most agents in an initiator, smokes or flex role, but that can also step up to a leadership position.
"After all this time I know that I'm not scared to become a leader and one of the best IGL's," the three-year veteran said. "I can also become a very strong second voice and a tactical genius. Been sacrificing myself for a few years being full-time suport player, gave my everything only so the team could work the best. Now I know what type of team I want to be in and how to make it work the best way."
starxo's time in the European VCT scene dates back to 2020, but he's most remembered for his 2021 season, when he won Champions Berlin with Acend Acend Inactive ALIVE Gilad Hakim musashi Alessio Xhaferi pyrolll Artur Minin cullumx Nikolaj Cullum Andersen chiwa Egor Stepanyuk .
Prior to joining KOI, starxo played a big part in Acend's 2021, season, which saw the team also take home the Europe Stage 1 Masters and the Europe Stae 3: Challengers 1 trophies.
The departure of starxo is another domino in KOI's roster rebuild. In 2024, they went 5-10 and failed to qualify for any international tournaments, and their first step in the rebuild seems to be replacing one of their final pieces when rebuilding in 2023.
"If you only look at the last season you are wrong, real starxo was there only a few times," starxo said. "Never been so ready to prove people wrong after all this months."
"Thank you and sorry for these 2 years," starxo said to KOI fans. "It was even harder for me than for you, trust me. You are very dedicated community, I could feel all of the support you gave us and also the hate. You deserve better. I hope you will have it in 2025."
