I was thinking about it, and it feels weird how a competition that is supposed to introduce and help women get more into the scene doesn't have any direct connection to other parts of VCT such as Tier 1/2. They could make it so the Champions of GC get a spot in a Tier 1/2 tournament or something else, because currently it is an isolated league. I'm guessing they do it this way so girls in GC can play among themselves and get better, but ever since its creation we haven't seen that happen at a meaningful level as I can't recall Tier 1/2 teams picking up GC players.
I think this too affects growth. The fact that GC is an isolated league is why it doesn't draw as much attention as Tier 2 for example. What makes Tier 2 exciting is knowing that all teams have a chance at making the big leagues. Knowing that those teams and players have a chance at making your favorite region and seeing them play against all the other renown teams sounds cool and interesting to viewers. This isolation gives no room for exciting narratives or games never seen before. Personally, this is why I can't seem to care about GC. Despite being a league created to promote talent, in the end it never amounts to anything.
