The story is definitely not as good as Borderlands 1 and 2 but the gameplay feels really clean and there's A LOT of loot. I really enjoyed it. It's even more fun with a friend. If you end up not liking it, I would also recommend Tiny Tina's Wonderland. It's set in the Borderlands universe but on a smaller scale. And as someone who enjoys DnD, it was a cool take on it.

Yea man, but like I want to iterate that the story is absolute dogshit. It's super cringe with the Calypso Twins being a 100x downgrade from Handsome Jack. Like you would not miss anything from just skipping the cutscenes. If you can get past that, its enjoyable 100%.

yeah i've been enjoying borderlands mainly for the open world loot shooter so the story is just an icing on the cake. kind of a bummer tho cause borderlands 2 really made me interested on the lore

i would say mostly story, its kinda ass. gameplays pretty fun but it does get old over time

goated games story isnt the best in the third game but the gameplay makes up for it as well as the endgame content wonderlands has a better story with nice gameplay but the endgame is pretty bad as well as the dlcs in wonderlands arent very good however the dlc in borderlands 3 is AMAZING none of them miss :D

also look into some of the modded content for borderlands two some things as simple as QoL things with the community patch or vast changes to everything added different loot items with exodus or bl2.5 id also like to mention borderlands the pre sequel is amazing even with it being unfinished (lack of dlc and endgame content) which is sad because it was from hate and now people love the game which i find funny i hope this helps even tho its just yapping :)
