is it just me or has this season been really unentertaining?
last year we saw so many storylines and crazy rivalries.
this year its just oh gen g are winning everything and half the matches are already won before they are played
the only thing that would make this year interesting is if a Chinese team went on a run and won champs but i HIGHLY doubt this will happen

lowkey agree and it doesnt help that 2 events r in asia

and all these games are easy

last year Americas had 2 events(LOCK/IN and Champs LA), but when Asia hosts 2 events, it becomes a problem?

I mean there biggest viewership comes from americas….. wouldn’t you want a timezone that somewhat favors them? i’m all up for events held in asia and etc but back to back fucked time zones for us is wild

their biggest viewerships comes from apac and china tho

probably china, but that shit is botted

Pacific would pull more viewers than anyone because they have China, Apac and EMEA watching all at the same time.

Americas is only a good timezone for them and they’re still pulling the same amount of viewers lol.

meh i can’t blame you for your doubts on cn viewership because they rarely share those stats at all hell they don’t even alllow ratings. but cn viewership is still very high and ZMJKK is SUPER popular in CN valorant

nope, all regions should have an equal or fair amount of events in their favour. Americas had 2 last year, Pacific has 2 this year, EMEA had 2 in 2022.

biggest viewership is 100% China

obviously true but I think the point is that back to back asian events makes it bad for the NA viewer, these events should never consecutively be in NA or consecutively be in asia (EMEA is the neutral time zone so thats whatever).

Shanghai -> Madrid -> Seoul would have been nicer tbh.

agreed, it just sucks to barely watch events back to back, feels like i havent been invested in a tourny since madrid which was at the beginning of the year

Skill issue from your part honestly
When we have to stay up to watch, it's alright but when it's you who has to stay up, it's a problem. I say Riot should totally sell out to China and set every event in China. Hell, make one event at the Great wall of China.

Acting like fnatic didn't sweep last year. These braindead takes need to stop

EG vs fnatic rivalry was really fun to watch, also just because a team isnt going to win the event doesnt make the match boring. watching edg vs navi in masters tokyo was really fun even though we knew neither would win. Also reminder that EG won champs and fnatic didnt even podium

lockin was a mickeymouse (i dont care to argue it was single elim)

Masters<Champs

yeah i agree, they had such a good rivalry in tokyo. but was also fun to see if jingg would win his "last" match. maybe if eg vs prx in lower bracket finals then eg vs fnc in finals

lower bracket vs fut could also be jingg's last match

nah i love apac, but i wish there was a rivalry like fnc vs eg. maybe if sen or th qual through we can get a rematch of a masters

geng vs th rivalry while it might not hit the same is actually kinda cool if you’re not into the whole villain persona. these guys are the complete opposite (geng was the villain during shanghai only)

TH somehow winning it all is a sick storyline though no? boo went from being on the worst emea team to sticking with the same org and becoming the best in the world, miniboo, riens, benjy and wo0t finally overcome their mental blocks, patitek watches as his team lifts that trophy without him there. almost won it in shanghai before getting blown out the next 2 maps

if sen kept up their form for the year it would have been more exciting to watch imo
there would have at least been a rivalry between sen and geng

you don’t fw copenhagen? i think that masters event was lit even if it may be one of the more forgotten ones

fpx/drx games were always a treat to watch. they gave us good valorant. same with optic v loud

i was a much more casual viewer in 2022 which might contribute to my distaste for copenhagen and other 2022 valorant events but for me copenhagen was pretty boring and it felt like the level of valorant was worse than the previous event.

I will say the storyline was very good but at that time I didn't even know about the storylines that much so that might be why I didn't find it entertaining.

2024 started off incredibly boring. Every single teams were extremely weak
But this mid/late season became incredibly entertaining. Teams are looking in form
2024 obviously doesn't compare to 2023 but I find it way better than 2021 and 2022
