Following the match, several key shortcomings were highlighted by multiple team members in a post-match press conference with the media.
Champions is Flex1n's first time participating in an international event. How did you feel throughout the match and what adjustments do you think the team will make for KRU?
Flex1n: "It's not that bad because I'm holding the attitude to learn something, and I think I've learned a lot. For the next match, I think I will adjust some things in-game and be more relaxed."
Champions is also the first international event for nephh. How does it feel representing Malaysia/Singapore and how do you feel about Champions?
nephh: "It's my first time at an international event, and I came here with the mindset of taking every match as a learning experience. We actually didn't do very well for the first match, but we definitely learned a lot, and we will do better to improve for our next game."
What does the team think went wrong throughout the series, and what other mistakes did the team pick up on after the match?
nephh: "On Bind, I really think we had the game in our pockets. I felt like that was a game we should've won. We planted the bomb 10 times but we lost a bunch of retakes, which was good from their part, but I think our communication should've been more on point. A lot of advantageous situations came through at the end, which gave them the momentum to get a few rounds. We lost the map 13-9 but I feel like it should've been ours. For Lotus, I think our game just wasn't as good as them. We're outclassed in many aspects on that map."
Why did whzy choose to play Neon on Lotus as opposed to Raze?
whzy: "Our kind of composition is not that traditional. The Raze pick is not that good, there are other choices now on the plate and I think maybe this composition will be better. Neon is also a super powerful agent in this patch."
How would you describe your performance during these matches?
bail: "I think the problem is the same as our strengths, and we actually have to fix it, but I don't think we've fixed that kind of problem in our officials. I think it's kind of limited ourselves. We should just expand our advantages and lessen our mistakes. Maybe Bind we could've taken down, but after we calm down, it just kinda comes down to what we can do at that time, and I think maybe we should do more counter strategies to our opponents."
