I think women can technically play in VCT franchising right now, it's just that it hasn't happened yet
I remember hearing something about mel being trialed for a team a while back but I guess that didn't go anywhere

she said that

"For those of you who only want a few sentences, here it goes: I’ve been denied opportunities to trial for co-ed VALORANT teams with a handful of talented co-ed rosters over the years for reasons that include teams not wanting to pay a buyout for me and because I was viewed as, and I quote, “too valuable of an asset to release this close to partnership selection when I’m so pivotal to my org’s application.” There was at least one situation where I was being considered but it was soon communicated back to me from a T1 team that a player was not comfortable playing with a woman."

wasnt this before franchising? even then most GC players would rather continue being in GC since changing to T3 or T2 is just gonna come with a lot of dropping. a lot of people arent even earning money

personally, I only remember her saying that she was supposed to have trials with a tier-1 team, but one of the members said that he'd be uncomfortable playing with a female.

I also remember people speculating that the said tier-1 team was called "Pioneers", but idk if it's true.

Also, Pioneers were never really a tier-1 team I think
