idk oxy is obviously insane mechanically but the way he plays on c9 going fortnite bugha mode is not how valyn would want him to play on g2, which is infinitely more structured

imo if im g2 im looking to get oxy in the offseason. The only reason why oxy plays that way is because vanity doesn't give him any guidance. Oxy under valyn will instantly make him a better player.

Icy won them first two pistols it was genuinely the team fault for not snowballing on lotus.
Haven he played a bit bad first few rounds but started get crucial kills latter half but again teamates could not convert lost like a 4v2 3 times. You honestly cannot pin it on icy

G2 is probably the most structured Americas team. It has the tightest system out of all teams. A loose canon like Oxy will be either "nerfed" stats wise or in gameplay. If Oxy will be in G2 in the future, it is a 40/60 chance that the roster will do better than it is doing now. Icy is a system player. Leaf when he was playing Jett/Neon also had a semi loose canonish playstyle, but since moving to sentinel, he became a cooled down player.

G2's val team in structure gives a Navi CS2 vibe, in which even tho there are 2-3 fraggers in the team, many games the kills are divided kinda equally between 4-5 players, and the team plays like a team not a pub stack. In Navi's CS roster, Aleksi (the IGL) and Blade (the coach) are kinda micromanaging a little, now I don't know if Valyn and JoshRT are also micromanaging, but the structure of the team can be seen compared to other teams.

This is a very well summarised response for how G2 play.
They're all most of the times equal stats wise because of the way they have their system in place.
Icy doesn't need to go +15 every map but he needs to enable them to do what they are doing, in which he's clearly doing a great job.
I think people still don't credit G2 enough, they play very well and in a more different manner than most teams
