Officially the biggest Mickey mouse tourney yet.
No wonder they won when their biggest competitors were a bunch of tier 2 players in a brand new team.
GG : D
Loud and FNATIC were very consistent throughout 2023, both team dominated their regions. FNATIC had 2 wins and 4th place, Loud had a 2nd place, 3rd place and an unlucky tournament at Tokyo. Much better than SEN who won kickoff and and 8 team tourney. They have been getting shit on in regionals unlike FNATIC and Loud last year.
I'm not discrediting Sen here, they did look really good in the offseason and Kickoff/Madrid, and a trophy is a trophy, BUT:
I would still say Madrid is a mickey mouse in relation to other Masters. The format of Kickoff was just bad, after an 8 month off season, you lose 2 games in the group stage and the first Masters of the year is out of your reach just like that? Even the trophies looked so small and insignificant - Pacific only got a damn cardboard.
Also, having a Masters with only 8 teams didn't even feel like a proper international tournament, just a couple of games and suddenly you are the top 3-4 in the world.
Okay the more I type this the more I feel the whole 2024 schedule is a joke. It starts in February with Kick off and ends in August with Champs.
