But being a World Champion is a feeling that you will never experience.
Thanks for the yap session and all, but equating 2 masters to a champs is stupid. Even more so 3 masters to a champs/masters.
You’re simply devaluing/inflating the worth of said trophies. 3 masters being the equal to a champs would be fair at best.
Acend as a whole fluked that trophy so at least choose comparable players. Lock/In doesn’t have the same worth as a masters/champions to add onto my point.
Good argument, the prize pool difference is pretty massive but that means we would have to start devaluing the first masters of the year when its prize pool is only 500k to the 1mil of the 2nd masters of the year.
The main problem comes from Riot doing a poor job of making the distinction between masters and champs in the first place back in 2021. Now all fans just naturally value both events as a major in their eyes since 2021. I think its still poorly advertised between the difference of the events. Champs just feels like its just marketing the champs bundle or whatever new agent or map they're releasing, and the hype from fans dont feel immensely different.
masters 1 should be less impressive than masters 2; 8 team event with a shorter qualification span allows flukes or teams without actual long standing skill to be better. (KC was able to make masters off really good set plays and comps) also the better teams aren't necessarily the teams that have outstanding play but rather teams that have gotten a stable base on the game before others. (NRG wasn't good but was able to pull through fine in kickoff due to being a team that already had chemistry between 2 groups of players.) Even a team like sentinels wasn't necessarily better at the time than any 2023 champs contender as much as they just had so many reps in and was simply ahead of other teams. The rule normally is either more teams = more prestigious (except for lock-in which had no qualification process) or later in the season = more prestigious
I can't believe a couch potato who types on VLR is trying to tell another user they haven't played sports before😂😂😂
Most casual fans/normies do not care about or feel for the hype difference between masters and champs. Both events are just a marketing ploy for riot to promote skins, new maps, or new agents.
If Riot cared for the competitive integrity and prestige value between champs and masters. They wouldn't make so many questionable changes to schedules, formats, and huge meta-shifts in the middle of the season.
The Olympics is an event every 4 years to promote world peace and unity through a worldwide showcase of various sporting competitions with teams based on countries. Champs comes nowhere close to what the Olympics is trying to promote or is in principle.
BTW certain sports like soccer value the World Cup as a more prestigious and bigger event than the Olympics.
And there's no way you're trying to say that a masters in valorant is like the In Season Tournament in the NBA and champs in valorant equates to the NBA Finals
