They've made the same thing in Valorant, If Brazil was an organized first world country, 3° GDP in the world i doubt Riot would do something like this with us. Unfortunally, we are dragged down by incompetence... I will stop here bc no politics

Because LCS couldn't hold their own reagion together, so brazil MUST be used to save them.

Very Sad, CBLOL was just so nice to watch.

huh. i thought cblol got decent viewership just like ljl. even though half of them are just DFM fans.

The cblol isb't dead, they're gonna have a name change, and their gonna lose 4/10 teams (but gain 1 ascension team similar to val).
They will still play in Sao paulo and there will still be a large tier 2 scene for brazil who can actual compete against top teams (unlike val).
I'm kind of dissapointed with this articles blatant and unnessecary fear mongering. There are MANY different ways to critique this shift, and tons of valid reasons to be upset, but the only thing that this article does is antagonize riot, the LCS, and anyone that isn't a Brazilian CBLOL fan.

The reason the league is shrinking the number of teams is so that there can be a partnership, and riot can pay teams.
The LPL has 17 teams, and will have to shrink that number down aswell.
The LJL has 6 teams and will lose most,
The PCS has 7 teams and will lose most,
Hell, the LLA has 6 teams and two will be split into 2 different regions.
Is no other region gonna be pissed that their losing their teams?

The difference is that those leagues couldn't hold viewership, meanwhile CBLOL had been growing for years. Stop comparing the brazilian league to other leagues, we DON'T WANT to be like the rest, and we are not. The brazilian league is profitable on its own. The LCS needs us, we don't need no one.

The CBLOL isnt even going to play against the LCS, how is this the LCS’s fault? If your upset about the wrong person, what other opinion that you are upset about, is wrong?

If LCS fans talked as much about their own league as they are talking about brazilian fans being mad for being buttfucked (i'm looking at you, LS), then the LCS wouldn't need to merge with no other league. Or do you think that if it was the brazilian league losing viewership, that the NA league would sacrifice anything to help us?

Of course it's the LCS fault, they failed their own franchise with their high salaries and lack of identity. You cannot possibly be here trying to argue with me about a thing I have watched for over ten years. You know nothing about CBLOL, because none of you gave a damn about the brazilian league until NA started to fall apart and you needed us.

LCS will buy the Brazilian players, making the CBLOL weak and killing the reagion slowly trought time.

LCS have 50+ players, only 15 are americans.

That's the reason this reagion is dead.

1 im not american,
2 y'all are getting 1 team back through ascension, you will still have 7 teams. In fact, I believe that if riot doesn't need to invest as much into each CBLOL team (because viewership is growing, and the teams are profitable) then there should be more partnered teams introduced.
Until that happens, the CBLOL will continue to play in Brazil against other brazilian and Koreans, and we can all continue watching our own league.

We'll MAYBE get one team back, but we still want the other three. They could remove only one team, we still wouldn't apreciate that. That's not so hard to understand. We're fine on our own, and if LCS was not so incompetent, we could still have all 10 of our teams.

Can anyone tell me what the LCS did, or will do, that caused any of this
Viewership is not an answer, because they will not play against each other, which means that Brazillian viewers will not watch/save the LCS

We were already watching LCS. Last split the peak viewership of LCS finals was half of CBLOL's, but that's because we had a watchparty with 100k views in brazilian portuguese. The ideia is obvious, they just announced a new import rule so that NA can hire brazilian players and get audience for it. Their currency is worth 5 times ours, so it'll be cheap and it'll bring public to them. And CBLOL will have to play against NA for a slot at worlds at the end of the year.

You will never understand what LCS did to us, we were much better without this shit change

They've took 4 of our teams and we must smile and be happy from now on

All of BR teams are well liked and have their own story, unlike LCS that nobody cares.

Brazil being punished for being successfull is fucked up

Unlucky, CBLOL was a healthy region. Riot just trying to save LCS by creating artificial and misleading viewership numbers by having multiple regions watch the same events.

Cblol is not dead and will not be, first this is good for us just watch the fucking scene, we have players like Robo and tinowns with 80K salaries a month and even PH saying that loud league of legends never make any profit even winning the league 4x in a row, now you get teams like KABUM,RED,FLUXO,LOS,PAIN that were buying players for 200-500k and tell me how the fuck this is sustainable?

It was just a matter of time to our teams being broke and being a INTZ who is the biggest champion of brazil but they had to sell their own office because of money, stop with this "CBLOL IS DEAD" finally we have the opportunity to prove that we have talent playing against LLA LCS and the league will be more hype than ever was, CBLOL would be dead it was just a matter of time but this format will make things even greater for us we will grow like we never had before.

Neither CBLOL or LLA is dead. I watch both And they're all doing great with the production, viewers, etc. Rarely any tech pauses.

LCS is definitely dying. And riot try to save them. I mean half of LCS player are imports. lol

Bro LLA literally ended

Americans simply doesn't care about League of Legends, there wasn't a single one of them to talk about this, and It isn't because they like the changes, it's because they do not care at all

1 dude from America responded my post, and i'm not even sure he's American

idk why br fans are complaining, this means brazil gets more slots at international tournaments and more exposure to major region teams. competition with the lcs will improve the br scene significantly

We've lost 4 teams

Brazil has insane history with all their teams, we've lost a lot

The only one that got better in this agree is USA, we were so damn fine, Brazil was talking about getting 12 teams because we couldn't put all our tallent in 10 teams

Tl:dr CBLOL viewers dont care about internationals, they like watching brazillians play, and by losing 3 teams (south is being reduced to 8 teams, 1 being LLA, and the other being ascension (but brazil > so brazil will win that slot)) they lose 15 Brazillian players.
there is also a fear that american orgs will poach brazillian players, or flood the brazillian market with americans

#40

nobody gives a fuck about 'exposure to major regions'. And there will be competition against LCS ONCE A YEAR. There is ONE upside to this and a million downsides.

#42
StalwartTiger_35
-1
Frags

they play the lcs twice a year actually, and if brazil fans don't care about internationals that's their loss. from the lcs side we also lose a lot by giving msi and worlds slots to a minor region

If your league can't even be profitable and mantain good viewership through the years, you shouldn't be worried about worlds and msi slots. You should worry about your scene as a whole. You're losing spots because the entire lcs was on the verge of being dissolved. Don't talk like you were the ones being punished. We are the ones being punished to save YOUR ASSES.
