It is. But again, Riot's parent company is Tencent, a chinese company so it's impossible to avoid this. Fortunate thing is Tencent and the chinese goverment are not exactly on good terms. If people have a reason to turn down the offer, you gotta respect it. That can be said for people to decide to work there, it should not reflect on their character since they can do other things to bring awareness to show they disagree. Simply put, they are there to work. Now, Saudi is a special case. Just my opinion tho.

For me living in EU (and also having lived in Dubai for some time), I feel there is a huge difference between Saudi and China in the scale of tyrannical countries. I don`t get the ”but China” argument or am I missing something?

Because China is the evil authoritarian country that everyone hates and must talk smack about even if it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic on hand. God forbid anyone talk about morals without mentioning China and oh my word how blind of those preaching virtues when they don't mention China.
