Madrid and Shanghai was too top heavy and all of the shit teams got slightly better in Shanghai, but the top teams are more seperated it looks like 100T are leagues ahead of every one else while Gen.G or TH will place Second/Third and G2 can actually make grands as a dark horse. It felt like last year every team was within the same general victinity of skill besides FNATIC but we've seen them topple vs TL and LOUD, the middle of the pack teams had some very competitive games like NRG, EDG, NAVI etc. Champs last year was the only event where multiple teams had a good chance at winning it unlike Tokyo and Lock-In.

I'm not trying to be rude but this may be due to the addition of China and just the shit qualifications for some of these events, China is taking up a extra slot and teams like KC, SEN who fell below expectations are just out.

i think this issue is bound to happen in franchising system and the qualifying is shit cuz of odd number of teams in a region , riot should have chosen an even number of teams this year maybe 2 orgs from ascension every year

let me set this straight for you, 100T, Gen.G, TH and PRX are the 4 tops teams and the middle tier teams coming into the tournament like G2 (dark horse) and FUT. TH have been upset by G2, FUT upset FNATIC who beat FUT 3-1 in the Stage 1 Lower Final, PRX were also upset by G2. While Gen.G and 100T are the 2 teams who are uncontested for the top 2 teams in this tournament.

majority of these series are close (except 100t vs FUT) despite some of the map scores it doesn’t portray the series. The game has always been super momentum based but this meta kinda makes it feel worse.

teams have been losing map picks way too many upsets so many teams have failed to qualify who were favorites for a lot of these events and you never really saw this last year.

teams are just anti starting for the enemy’s map with thinking they have their map locked pretty simple stuff tbh. Not really an upset when they prep harder than you imo and it shows in some of these games. Though the format is bad ur opinion on the “favorites” had plenty of chances to qual and failed to do so that’s on them preforming poorly not these teams stepping up. We didn’t see these teams or this last year because it’s a new meta, and certain teams are adapting better than others. Like Sliggy has stated this meta is super pop flash heavy without the skye making it look way more sloppy than what it is

(The only team to get truthfully fucked out of Shanghai was NAVI)

Not bad at all, all the teams are actually pretty good now, last year was so boring half the time because the first half of the tournament were pointless because the good teams were just farming. Teams in all regions (Except China its still too early) have upgraded so much. A lot better this year. FPX I think could've made a run if made it out of Swiss stage, one of my favorite teams to watch, very unique comps

the only thing about this season is the disparity within the top teams it looks like 100T are levels ahead move most of these teams, while the middle of the pack are very mid.

We will see, I think 100T are primed to win but I could totally see GenG even taking this series vs them. It does seem that most of the "Top" teams aren't in form at the same time, but I kinda disagree, I think TH is in form even without MiniBoo and I always thought they were EMEA #1 even though they lost finals. 100T and G2 are in incredible form right now. GenG is looking solid, we will see if PRX can rebound in lowers
