they also better start leaving the geng players alone
they didn’t do anything to warrant this
it’s affecting competitive integrity too
Google says that insensitive means: showing or feeling no concern for others' feelings.
In this case, the GenG PR did not think about their Chinese fanbase, so it should be allowed to be considered insensitive on their part.
For example, if a cowhand (let's call them Jack) working at a slaughterhouse had a favorite calf (let's call them Richard), and I'm also working there but as the butcher who kills the calfs. I am friends with the cowhand, and out of all the calfs I can kill, I choose Richard first. This hurts Jack's feelings because I was insensitive enough to consider his emotions towards the topic that is Richard's fate.
It also is controversial.
What is insensitive is claiming another country without considering that countries and its citizens feeling
All GENG did was acknowledge Taiwans sovereignty as a country, yet Chinese citizens seemed it fit to slander all their players? Why did the citizens themselves feel personally attacked from GenG acknowledging Taiwan? Unless they’re being insensitive and claiming Taiwan as their own?
At best, it’s controversial not insensitive lol
What is insensitive as well is photshopping Zekkens head on a monkey and hate replying to him with it for a mistranslation
But of course, the Chinese are being super insensitive right now, which I do condemn. I hope you're not misunderstanding the stance I'm taking here, sometimes my English isn't very clear/good. I was just explaining that GenG made insensitive remarks towards the Chinese which pissed off their fans and made them angry towards them. I am not contesting the soverignties of any countries here.
We could go on to discuss China's insensitivities towards certain topics but that would be digressing from my original comment, which was only meant to explain the Chinese fans' harsh actions against GenG and its players.
GenG's statement was both controversial and insensitive towards the Chinese and I think that's the bottom line here.
I appreciate the conversation though it's good quality.
In fact, people are double-standard animals. Chinese people are indeed being brainwashed, aren't Westerners the same? Westerners need to understand the Chinese concept of national sovereignty from ancient times to the present, and the Chinese need to be more generous. You can think of it as being brainwashed by the Communist Party, as some people say, but even if China is led by any other political party at this moment, the Chinese people will be particularly sensitive to the Taiwan issue because we have been taught this way since we were young. Patriotism is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it has allowed Chinese civilization to remain uninterrupted for thousands of years; on the other hand, it can become extreme. However, my idea is that if you put aside these grand political and social issues and get in touch with specific people, everyone will be lovely.
