Is 3 international lans too much?

Feels like you can't have a good format this way, even up until now I don't think it's that bad besides all elim/qual not being BO5. However when qualifications for Champs and Split 2 starts, the real problems are going to show, literally 1/3 of the teams have little to no chance of making champs and their year is objectively over, and the only reason they had to do it this way is because there wasn't enough time for 2 round robins. rn we have 1 round robin split down in the middle for a masters, I think the only good way to fix this is axe a LAN so they can give us 2 REAL splits each before events, hell maybe even an LCQ.

Then you have the issue of last year, where everyone complains about the offseason, they specifically tried to make this season end closer to September to address that so there isn't really much space to expand into i'd think

correction: last year also ended in august, so basically we're in for a long ass offseason again, but then you have the issue with champs eating into ascension (october) viewership

offseason should be like 2 months... means champs should be november-december rather than ending everything as soon as august...

fr cs offseason is small, we dont need half a year or so with no vct t1 tournaments.

i have two problems with vct ngl

they're rushing into all lan's way too quick which makes everything so stressful for players and the offseason being way tooo long is just boring for the viewers perspective
why tf are there two masters in a single year, like it really makes the masters less special.. i really wish lock in replaced masters as a third lan

tbh 2 masters in a year makes sense, imo they need 2 shorter off season breaks instead of 1 long break so it's not too long of a void imo

thats what i mean, break the off season into parts, so we have S1 - M1 - break 1 - S2 - M2 - break 2 - S3/LCQ - Champs - Off Season, maybe only 1mid season break but make it longer

their should be a 2 week break after every lan so teams dont get punished for attending either than that the format has been as good as it could be for 11 team regions at least from a viewing perspective ik pros want more games but realistically im not tryna watch furia play 20 games a season

giving an example i dont think a lot of people want to watch the bad teams play more matches which would lead to lower viewership for riot and a lower engagement rate which is at the end of the day what riot cares about most

3 Lan's isnt the problem, the season starting from feb and ending towards august-september is the problem..

but how do you reasonably extend the season? going backwards to january would make it so ascension teams have no almost break, and going forward would eat into ascension viewership

personally i dont really care if champs is on at the same time as ascension, but im defo sure there are people who will, and not to mention that riot would lose so much viewship over something like that

nobody watches ascension anyways, and if the season ends in november, we got 3 months offseason and the ascensions can be held during any time during those 3 months

real, ascension is like division-2 in football terms. no one would watch that anyways, so yall can just keep the matches in off days

At the end of the season till new season begins, there needs to be 3 months off to have time for new signing VISA. Xccurate and Jemkin took 3 months for theirs, unless 6 person roster mandatory rule comes back to prevent this. New season mid January to end august/mid september is best schedule as it doesn't overlap December Christmas holiday and doesn't overlap League worlds schedule end of september.

the problem isnt 3, they could even do 4, the problem is no break after masters + off season too long, why do they need like 5 months off lmao, they arent playing Football

yeah reading this and what others have replied with has defo shifted my perspective, I think first they should try expand the season, then maybe if they have excess time they could do 4 but its tough. But 3 is completely possible yeah, but for some reason they're insistent on making sure t1 and ascension don't overlap, hopefully that's something they fix for 2025

i think riot takes tier 2 scene into account thats why the season ends in august. this needs a change imo
