Building new pc start of 2024 school year, i have 4 monitor options

  • $569 1440p 240hz
  • $755 1080p 360hz
  • $1k 1080p 540hz
  • $1.2k cool 1440p 240hz oled
    All prices aud

I basically only play val and study on my pc

Edit: forgot to mention my second monitor is 1440p 75hz

240hz is enough for most games, above that the difference is almost unnoticeable to the majority of people.
So yea get the first one it’s good enough for VAL. Plus 1440p is cool too and val isn’t really a graphics demanding game

The first is the most logical option, but even that is a little pricey. Are you sure youre looking out for the whole market?

I got my 240hz monitor for under 200 bucks

I just found a 240hz 1920x1080 one for 380,38 AU$
Well 1440p is a bonus and all but aslong as you play val and study, its really not needed.

The only thing you will have to look out for is, if its Full HD, look at the size of the monitor. Full HD will look goofy on big monitors. Mine is 27'' and its aight imo.

Also you can look for ghosting but in a budget who tf cares

There's 240hz 1080 for 260 aud if u look hard enough but for some reason it just didn't click w me as a choice

Mainly because if i go 1080p i want there to be a funny stupid spec as a trade-off for losing quality

If youre not on a budget, get yourself something generous that will last for a while. I saw mine on a huge discount and copped it lol. Havent had any issues yet but i dont use 240hz a lot because my pc doesnt go that high

The manufacturer sadly discontinued the production of the monitor, for some reason. It was a Philips 27M1N5200PA. 240hz, 27'' and Full HD.

Im really enjoying it, its a good monitor. Also the retail price is at 320$ atm (if you can find it anywhere). I believe mine was at a huge discount, thats why I got it that cheap. Sorry for bringing the hopes up.

bro don't put 500$ in a monitor unless you are a pro player with vct potential.
otherwise you are throwing money to play ranked with bunch of trolls.

Monitors are not only used for competitive shooters, they unlock a whole new gaming experience with the refresh rates, the resolution or even the colors

if you only play val buy a 540 hz but make sure you have a 7800x3d and any graphics card as fast or faster than a 4070

get the 240hz oled if you're not on a budget, It's cool plus 0.1ms pixel response time just make sure you don't burn in (Read about it if you don't know how) the panel.

The 540hz it's the Asus one? I would wait until Zowie's 540hz with DyAc+/DyAc 2 releases.
Or you could get the Asus PG27AQN. It's a 360hz 1440p fast IPS panel, ULMB2 (the same technology as Zowie's DyAc) and with very good colors, or if you don't want to spend as much maybe get the Viewsonic XG2431, 1080p 240hz fast IPS with the same technology as Zowie's Dyac (tho a little different and this one doesn't have adjustable brightness)

1080p 360hz is the option, it's not good to play Valorant on screens with bigger res... The crosshair will be on a different size and will be harder to aim. I have a 4k display and I play Valorant on 1080p because in 4k the crosshair is too different and the resolution makes it more difficult to aim (it is strange and could be a placebo but I feel like it).

Crazy how wrong this is lmao. You can literally just a change your crosshair and make it bigger

Higher resolution is better for long range fights too, you can see the enemy more clearly

Yes you will need to customize your crosshair and you wouldn't be able to pick crosshairs from other people since they're set for 1080p and will look very small on 4k :)

1080p high refresh rate (VCT americas uses 1080p 360hz) is the standard on competitive :)

Just make your own crosshair or edit the size of other people’s, it’s not hard 😂I have 4k and 1080p monitor too
