they gave c0m 20k per month salary at the start of 2023 when he was awful
What I meant to convey was that you don't have to be a top player to be worth 20k. Winning the Championship raises your status to the point where just having you on the team would boost the entire orgs reputation. It's like you're a walking advertisement. Winning Championships doesn't make your org stable but it helps make yourself stable by building up a fanbase. Look at Tenz, he's great, and he's got such a massive fanbase that whichever team has him is bound to get a huge boost in revenue. That aspect of being "famous" for winning/being good is what makes a player worth so much more than they might actually be.
Idk if that makes sense.
Idk about the bundle money but they made 1'250'000 earnings this year, split up to 6 its 200k for each player/coach approx
They paid 20k per month so that adds up to 240k for each player (already more than earnings)
And they had 10 players, not 5. So that adds up to 2'400'000 just for the players
And the money for GC? Money for Coach? (probably a shit fucking ton because what she did is truly insane)
Where the fuck are they taking this money from? They dont even have any social media income like Sentinels, Their Youtube page had like 50 subscribers during the americas league, they had one content creator (stewie2k) and he left before the season had even begun
The only explanation i have is that Wolfes is feeding them millions of dollars every year
The bundle earned roughly 40 million
That’s 50% for the teams so 20 mill.
That’s roughly 1.5 million per team at champs.
They generated at least 2.5 million in revenue.
Crazy to think that’s not enough.
It really isn’t worth it to be in e sports if the best players in the world can’t make 6 figures.
Ok the math is mathing.
But EG already were paying 20k in the debut, while EG was the laughing stock of americas. Relying on earnings and bundle money is extremely unsustainable and risky, and if i were in EG management at the time of LOCK//IN & Americas League, i would DRASTICALLY decrease the income of the players. EG did not know beforehand that they would win champions, let alone qualify for it for the bundle money.

“Riot already disclosed a huge revenue boon for teams that participated in this year’s final event. The Valorant Champions 2023 bundle, which consists of in-game decorations for various items and effects, raised over $20 million in revenue share for those teams, earning them $1.25 million apiece.“
Now I don’t know what player contracts look like, but I find it hard to believe that they make 200k a year and take a huge cut from the bundle. Unless the orgs are actually that dumb….
I thought I heard somewhere that EG tried to cut their players salary this year with the promise of a larger share of the skin revenue but the players didn’t want the deal.
i said prize money, usually the ORG gets like 10-18% depending on the split, but its usually 14% 6x rest to ORG
now for the bundle money i dont know, im also speaking for NA teams, SA teams and Asian teams usually take 100% and even take a large ammount of prize money, but for the bundle in NA im guessing its 50/50 for the team and the ORG
