Riot franchise isn’t based on performance. it’s about org size, fans, and money. Like, The guard who was doing great in NA scene didn’t get franchise but EG who is partnered in league got it.

Even though viewer are not as many, they still have a popular esports scene and one of the biggest esports markets in the world. Just look at league and overwatch. They have quite a lot of players. Most importantly, they have orgs that meet Rito’s franchise criteria. Basically, if you have a team in league, rito will give you a huge plus.

DFM is NOT a great org buddy Idk where you heard that. Valorant JP players explicitly would rather take tier 2 offers than go to DFM. Their CEO and staff had a ton of abuse allegations last year which scared away a ton of talent.

As much as I want smg in the franchise system, and any org would be better than dfm, Japan deserves two orgs, they have a massive fanbase. It should have been CR instead

Yes they can kick orgs in certain cases. In normal situations tho, due to bad performance they can only kick an org every 4 years. Basically orgs signed 4 year deals and in 4 years riot decides if they want to renew or replace. We're on year 2, so that won't be the case until the 2026 off season

It's a long time that's the whole point of franchising, giving orgs an stable situation to work with, no constant pressure and the possibility to build for the future like teams like many teams are doing with young talent. If Riot could kick orgs at any time many young tier 2 talents wouldn't have been picked up in the first place

riot doesnt care about the level of competition, they just want the orgs with the most money and fans. if they cared about the level of competition then there wouldnt be franchising and every event would have open qualifiers.

what has any of the low performing teams (not in americas) done wrong as an org?

heretics, koi, kc, dfm, ge

all these orgs have performed terribly last year, but always showed that they actually care about putting forward a decent roster. they have tried to invest in the best possible players. if all dfm cared about was the fans, they would have gone for 5 man japanese roster.

kc is the only one who probably didnt make a roster with competetivness as the priority in 2023. but with the new roster only having 1 french, its pretty visible that kc and all the other orgs are doing the best htey can.

riot and the partnered orgs have generally been good. its all the lack of talent or sometimes poor recruitment that hurts. but they definitely didnt just choose these orgs based on money and fans.
else they would've chose optic who has a fanbase over eg, who have neither the money nor the fans

A lot of the point of esports for company is to make money as well. If they really want pure competition it would always be open with any teams able to compete with top teams. That long term doesn't bring viewership or clout if big orgs lose.

bleed with all the money can only get yay, as only 1 import is allowed. soon enough china will takeover as the 3rd best region.
be happy until prx somehow remain at top, and while drx core doesnt break.

becuase i am telling you, pacific will be a lot worse when eventually PRX and DRX fall off!
