The team fully features an array of former CS:GO players, with stellar, Fiziq, and aproto having played in Season 34 of ESEA's MDL division. Since forming in the game's beta, MIXUP have made multiple placements in several events including three Ignition Series events — the T1 x NSG Showdown, the PAX Arena Invitational, and the FaZe Invitational.

Luminosity is a Canadian organization active in a variety of esports, and are the current operators of the Vancouver Titans franchise in the Overwatch League.

This marks the second full team under the name of MIXUP that Luminosity have signed. Back in 2016, Luminosity signed team mixup as a part of their entrance into competitive Overwatch.
