By that logic then Sentinel is not from Na , its from California :D
Mb for thinking you said Russia wasn't in Europe. I must have gotten confused. Also, the main reason they split CIS and TR is because of the large amount of teams not because the countries don't lie in the same geographical region, if that was the case then latam and Br would be in the same qualifiers?? HMMMMMMMMMMMMM. LMAO
I know Brazil is Latin America. But Latin America is more of a denomination to those countries where its language is derived from Latin, not really a geographical representation since Latin America also includes the Caribbean countries which are way across the sea.
What I meant for South America is, for example, the LCQ. LATAM/Brazil LCQ is officially named South America LCQ even though, technically, the LATAM and Brazil regions (as in Valorant servers and shit) includes more than just South America. The way I see it, Riot don't really know their shit
The thing is when people say Eu in eSports, it's basically the Europe Continent/Region and not the European Union because if you are considering EU as the latter then you are already counting out UK from EU.
So imo, it's better to just call it EMEA to avoid confusion but that doesn't denies the fact that 3/4th part of Russia is in European Continent.
Really for somebody EU stands for the Union? LMAO I guess not for Europeans... maybe for dumb guys outside EU that google "EU" and see information about the Union.
UK is not part of Union nowadays yet their players play in EU qualifiers.
When Europeans say EU we mean WHOLE EUROPE we don't care about politics.
Again, it’s not related to geography. TR, CIS and EU are all EMEA subregions. They all happen to come from the “E” part, that’s true. But that means nothing. Here’s another explanation to help https://mobile.twitter.com/Average_Jonas/status/1439674204769722372
Here is the simple fix. Look at CSGO. EU is EU and CIS represents Russian/Ukranian and other teams. To talk Esports language just follow what has been done for years now. Gambit is part of EMEA, but a lot of us call it CIS because of the familiarity. Such as Na'Vi in CSGO. For me, just familiarity and nothing more.
yes exactly its related to culture and ukrainians, belarusians and russians are part of European Culture and always been same as other slavic countries.
When Europeans say EU we mean and always meant WHOLE EUROPE we don't care if somebody is from the Union or not because with your logic swiss are not from EU LOL.
It's even funnier for me as a polish slav to be not allowed to call my eastern boys EU XD
