FNS on CS vs VAL

Twitch clip from HLTV forums

Basically says Valorant is easier than CS for shooting, and CS is better in almost every way than Valorant

It is the truth

In CS, you have all your own utility, the movement is far better, the competition is far better, the esports is 10x better, etc etc etc

but I still love to shit on immortal bots in the childe game, I think it's like ice cream: you can enjoy many flavors, but have your favorite (like FNS)

Bro csgo u just see the same gameplay over and over whereas in val, the meta is constantly changing and new plays can be made which makes it better than csgo.

apply this logic to literally any other game:

does Chess need new pieces to continue to develop?

does basketball need more balls to change the meta?

does football (the real one) need jetpacks to stay entertaining?

theres a difference between irl and online. irl, you are able to do so many new things while online, its really the same thing over and over again. Online you are defined by the code, theres only so many things are able to do while irl, everyone is creating new plays and aren't limited by what they have.
theres a reason why meta irl r changing and not online doesnt really change(or rarely) without an update. How often do updates do like football get that changes how everyone plays. what about basketball?

Thats a dumbass take bro.
You named sports that are based on tatics. Those tactics are always gonna be changing and if u cant adapt, ur out. same with valorant, if u cant adapt to a new agent or comp, ur getting dropped.
For example, why are there thousands of chess openings? by your logic, everyone should play the same one and end in a draw every time.
Why are there different formations in football?
Your pov is dumb af and u just sont want to visualize it
Why do basketball teams have a 7' centers? Why did they add a 3 point line?
Everything changes, but in cs, you get a 1 dmg increase in a weapon nobody uses every 2 years.

sorry, did you get dropped or thrown on your head as a child? valorant is a tac fps -- it is basically one of two.

my entire point was that tactical games dont need to update often to continue to be entertaining... cs adds small changes, little by little, whereas valorant just spams changes

im sorry bro i really think you might have eaten led or something as a child, i feel like you must be really strange to talk to, like you just dont have anything going on up there

I mean Chess is a thousand year game that even saw changes and evolution of tactics in the 20th Century. Basketball is also new comparatively and had changes to its "meta" as recent as 2014-15 with the GSW. Football is ANCIENT by modern sport standards and Tiki-taka wasn't in play until perfected by Pep Guardiola based on Cruyff's vision, Jurgen Klopp was also able to innovate on a classic German style. You are only looking at the surface of these sports and saying they are never changing, they are, and the changes are entertaining as well as necessary.

Kinda true, but things in CSGO are also changing all the time. Even small things like new smokes that may look insignificant can have big impact on timings etc that can have big impact in such mastered game. High level CSGO is like chess with multiple moving parts and teams are constantly trying to come up with new ideas.

#23
333triplethreat
2
Frags
+

yeah timing isnt creating a new meta tho, in valorant creating a new agent can change how everyone plays. In csgo, yes it can be a change that changes the meta, but overall, all ur abilities are still the same. I dont play csgo but im p sure that you have the same abilities over and over again, every game. if you are telling me the meta is constantly changing without any updates, idk what to tell you. theres a reason why people are playing the same comp on ascent.

#32

So if the argument is that the meta is stale on certain maps (like Ascent) doesn't that just put it in the same place as CS? Where everyone is used to what the utility is supposed to do and it comes down to execution, on the fly adaptation and reads.

I'm not arguing one game is better than the other, just saying that even if the meta comp doesn't change on a level for awhile the way people play it is most definitely still changing at the pro level (which does generally trickle down a bit to us normies).

#33
333triplethreat

Frags

the difference is there are massive updates in val which makes the meta change while cs, its stale throughout the year. sure there might be a slight shift but overall, there wouldn't be a massive like val and it wouldnt be that noticeable to the naked eye. but #21 is still saying that since its online, you are hella limited which makes val and csgo stale as once the meta is set, it most likely isnt going to change a big update happens. But overall val isnt as stale which makes the game much more interesting. Not to mention that thats just pro play, in ranked u can play whatever agents you want which means different executes will be created.

#34

It is tho. Like I said that simple timing difference may completely change how the team will play that round. For example when Astralis started double nading Overpass' B boost players had to start fear that spot and use other ways to get control in map. Same as how on Dust 2 attackers always molly mid doors to stop CT from going to lower tunnels and even in that the timing and spawn position etc has impact. And again because of that teams on CT side started to do more boosts on A short that then again changed how the attackers on lower tunnel have to move, preaim etc. Its small things but it constantly changes the game and how different positions play. Teams/players who don't keep up and adapt get rolled by new stuff.

And these aren't even comparable. CSGO is so mastered that teams do stuff Valorant teams can't even dream of. Small things can have big impact on meta while its true that Valorant has more noticable changes in meta, but then again that means teams will not reach similar mastery. Both are different, but saying that CSGO meta doesn't change is pretty wrong.

idk what ur talking about because I have never played csgo but i never said it wasnt changing. I said "constantly changing" like you said, those are some meta changes but arent very common. Im also curious how many years ago was this?

#40
patuj

Frags
+

Those were some time ago especially the Astralis one, but used as example because those are easy to understand if you played CSGO. Dust 2 isn't even in active map rotation atm IIRC. But it is to point out that teams are constantly coming up with ideas that work and then other teams start doing the same thing and finding ways to counter and so on, so on. CSGO may look simple and static, but its evolving all the time.

#41
333triplethreat

theres only so many things you can do with the same map and same abilities. Eventually you can't change unless u go back to your old strats and even if the meta changes, its so subtle that it looks like they doing the same strat but in a slightly different way.

this doesnt apply to me, i find cs way, WAY easier in terms of shooting compared to valorant. I have around 5-7k hours in csgo ( and i used to play cs source ) and i was GE, in valorant i have around 200-300 but cant get passed ascendant. In cs i could react to players and eventually win duels, in valorant i cant even see the person before i get one tapped, not to mention the hitbox is so small its hard af to hit their head..
I like valorant but for me cs is way easier

Oh god ... it looks like another measuring season is in place ... and don't get me started on all of the differences between the games.

I will just say one thing:

Please, understand this one thing --> Just as Valorant's shooting might feel more easier than CS's, so it's equally easier for your opponents to take you down in the game. This means while you might find shooting simpler in Valorant, the same advantage is extended to your enemy, which essentially, amplifies the challenge and competitive nature of Valorant, especially noticeable in duels, given the notably slower movement speed in Valorant compared to CS. Can you survive the round, let alone impacting towards the win? <-- This argument alone can counter any claims about CS being the tougher game. And we don't even touch on the evolving complexities of agent roles/nerfs/buffs and meta/coms adjustments in Valorant <-- shit is not that easy, at the end of the day.

Exactly bro, the skill ceiling is exactly the same for everyone.
Also I heard shroud say that valorant has much more strategic complexity to it but no one's talking about that.
Mechanically, CS is harder no cap.

#47
clocksky888

Aye, and considering the "ever-changing intricacies of agent roles, nerfs, buffs, new meta-agents, prevailing metas, and comps," the depth of analysing the diverse agents and their influence in the multi-dimensional game – be it strategic planning or mere statistics – is astoundingly vast and intricate compared to CS, which operates on a more 2-3 dimensional level rather than the multifaceted layers present in Valorant.

From a mechanical standpoint, you're just as vulnerable to being defeated by your enemy as they are by you, right? Judging by HS vs. HS scenarios. The intensity is palpable, whether in MM or Global tournament stage, especially with the slower movement and abilities that further decelerate you. It's genuinely intense, in my opinion.

Thank you very much! 🍻

I have to manage a substantial volume of email exchanges daily, and they often require sticking to a formal style. It's become somewhat of a routine for me, tbh. On occasion, though, I do apply external paraphrasing tools like Quillbot (best in the game - imho) to refine certain expressions. On the contrary, the capabilities of ChatGPT today have reached an entirely unprecedented levelβ€”truly impressive, and would be wiser to use it for such tasks over any other paraphraser, I'd say. And I've used both extensively, but only Quiullbot out of the two - during my academia.

I also want to emphasize that while using external tools, you can still enhance your paraphrasing abilities and your overall mastery of the language. However, it's important to approach this improvement deliberately. Instead of mindlessly rephrasing text, take into account the results it gives you, and think about the layers of expression, in the context of your text and overall thesaurus usage. Also consider even building your own library of phrases - this practice can be incredibly valuable for advancing your language skills to the next level. <-- no matter how good you are already, you will get even better.

P.S. A wee note: I made an error in my phrasing when I said "multi-dimensional" instead of "a HIGH dimension." I sometimes wrongly phrase that expression verbally as well, even though it should actually be "high order of dimension" rather than simply "multi-dimensional," as it already implies multiple dimensions from the get go.
