I mean nrg beat zeta at least, I don’t think liquid won a game so it’s difficult to justify putting them above a team that won at least a game. is what it is.
Liquid was in the group of death where any 4 could have made it out + Drx group stage merchants so its really 3 teams competing for a spot.
Nrg in the meantime had one of the easiest brackets to get to playoffs yet got 0-4'd

BiliBili would've had Liquid on a leash and ZETA clears Liquid too. Not to mention NRG kicked Liquid out of Tokyo in their head to head they are 1-0. Just cause ur favorite team is in a group doesnt make it a group of death

IMO, the placement is justified because the general expectations were that Liquid was one of the favourites to get out of Group D and yet failed to make it out. That's not even beginning to discuss the lack of solid strategies or game plans found in their gameplay this tournament.
Because Liquid only has 1 match win this year in international tournament 🗿

It's also about expectations. Yeah, nrg played poorly, but liquid were the #1 emea seed, the only team to beat fnatic this year. They gotta at least win a map or play close scorelines against loud at the very least.
