Considering viper as a controller while creating fantasy teams? I've seen it too many times already...
If one player plays viper, this does not mean he's a controller. Viper is never played as a solo controller.
There are three types of players that pick viper:
- Main controllers (e.g. MaKo, hoody). You can pick these guys to play controllers
- Flex players (e.g. chronicle, FNS, kiNgg), they often flex to breach/init/sentinel roles and you can't take them as controllers for your team, they only play viper
- the most common of all, SENTINEL players (e.g. nAts, suygetsu, less, Yosemite), I've seen these guys taken as controllers too many times. They are not controllers, they are sentinels.
Moreover, viper's mechanics are very sentinel-like and often have a role of site-anchoring, which makes sentinel mains who "flex" onto viper not real flex players but just normal sentinels, in fact oftentimes a sentinel player picking viper is just the norm. You can play many maps with 0 sentinels but viper+another controller, but you can't play 1 map with viper+sentinel and no controller
