its boring if teams be humble or be fake humble people should just shit talk after winning it makes them winning/losing in the future more fun to watch
You massively undervalue the concept - RIVALRY. TRASH TALK, if not managed or prevented at the right time, can develop into brutal violence in the blink of an eye --- not that we've seen any yet in or outside the game... and the effect would typically snowball over a time... but, someone/somewhere could be seriously injured one day.
That's why there's sportsmanship-like behaviour in place, as game creators-league organisers, teams carry some responsibility of their fans (in a way), as they too must to comply with certain regulations - they strive to avoid any unnecessary confrontations (in preventive measures way), since such escalations might lead rather far, I'd say.
Being a good sport should not be equated to being fake. What if some people are just nice and came to win, you automatically make them fake humble. Not everyone wants to engage in drama like FNC just win and win and win without any trashtalk. They only play good focus on their strengths and being the best roster they have now instead of putting other regions down like Boostio continously trashtalking chinese teams. Being confident is alright but when you have to put other people down just to feel better about yourself or to entertain people then surely you're either attention deprived, insecure, or the viewers have some weird entertainment preferences that's why they need to do that kind of trashtalk (eg or sen). I think the SEN vs G2 banter was ok-ish with g2 saying fuck sentinels but Boostio saying that chinese team can never catch up to Americas was just not trashtalk, just straightup insecurity.
Spot on about attention deprivation, insecurities, and weird entertainment preferences of viewers... These are most likely the main causes of such urges - to be seen as a "rebel" or something when, in reality, are nothing more than laughable and pathetic behaviour, though problematic in the long run.
What if somehow CN never actually catch up in VAL like how CN never catch up in CS? lots of people used to said that China will never catch up again in CS after Tyloo fell off and they were right until this day. Boostio said that because there is a reason and possibility that the same thing can happen in VAL despite Riot heavily biased now towards the Chinese market since the game is finally released there?
Definitely don't want hugging and kissing haha I kinda want the old SEN trashtalk but I don't see EGs that way because straightup boostio said that chinese teams will never catch up to the americas. It wasn't a trashtalk, it was a statement. I can tell he really doesn't like Chinese teams. I guess that kinda threw me off that they're banter isn't just for fun
I mean, I don't think EG want to be the heroes in the storyline, I think it's quite clear they're in it for the trophy. That's what will make the EG v. CN team matchup really juicy. Seriously hope a CN team makes it and gets matched up with EG, it would be an iconic match with ridiculous showboating.
Let's put it into perspective. Some banter is honestly funny. All I was saying is that teams that just come to play and be at their best without trashtalking other teams should not be labeled as fake or fake humble.
Some banter that were actually funny
Trashtalk that isn't funny
EG hasn't once attacked any Chinese player's personal life/character.
It's banter and "In game", I'm sure he'd be glad to be "humbled" but that time isn't coming soon for CN unless edward goes crazy.
Trashtalk - keeps the scene interesting.
If EG loses they lose, they lose the right to trash talk. If not, Nothing changes.
It ain't that deep everyone, if you don't like EG just stop supporting them x-x.
