Been watching quite a few people talk about this being destined to happen at some point in the future if esports wants to be profitable.. What do you guys thinks? Would you pay 5-10$ a month for Tier 1 events if it were to be introduced?

Its only washed up nobodies from T2 EMEA advocating for this shit

and they have the balls to say make T1 PPV but let T2 be free

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that their games average 75 viewers when theyre free, if you needed a subscription it would be in the single digits

that's... not a good take. We don't pay for Youtubers and that's a legitimate industry so (?). Same for streaming, same for other sports too (we can literally watch them for free on CBS or NBC or whatever open TV network).

youtube revenue is shared by a single person or a few working for the channel while for esports you are talking about 100s of people working behind the production having to be paid along with the orgs that are still far from being profitable.

Games make profit from eSports, for example cs would've died ages ago if they didn't have a big esports scene. why would developers kill their games if it's the orgs who fail to make profit
