Compared to SMB and Gambit, arent Acend being rated way higher even though they came only 3rd having lost to both those teams. Plus most of their success is also solely dependant on a single player popping off .... idk how they are being considered a dream match up for SEN over SMB/Gambit.

I have watched them....that doesnt change the fact they lost to both SMB and Gambit.
You wont be handed the trophy just cz your play looks good, what matters is if you win or not.

Stupid comparison. SMB and Gambit arent "1 match wonders" , they are legit solid teams who will be competing in Berlin too.

'unimportant' yeah right ... got seeded in the group of death right after . Had they won the whole thing being the 'no.1 EU rep' , they would have avoided it.

yes, because NA 3rd gets easy group and EMEA 3rd gets group of death. Everyone totally saw this coming. It's not their fault Riot doesn't release the way matches will be seeded until they release the actual schedule. If they got NV's group, and NV got their group, which iirc could've realistically happened, you would not have an argument.

or they couldve won that seeding match and lose to gambit, to also be seeded in the group of death. I think that the VS situation just proved that seeding doesn't matter.

Acend beat gambit in the more important match (to qual) and we dont know who is really better between smb and acend since we haven't seen a high stakes game with both

No, sorry to say but I somewhat disagree with you. You can't really question the skill level of any team playing at this level. They all are about same. The confidence level and the right timing is what makes one team to win and another one to lose (strictly in my opinion).

I think the big thing with Acend is not only are they a good team, they player for player match up with SEN effectively. They also definitely have proven to be at the level of a Gambit or SMB even though they got 3rd in challengers finals.

One reason I believe Gambit are not being rated highly is their lack of a superstar duelist, they have Nats and he is great but not the entry. I feel people equate team success with how good your #1 duelist is and for Gambit that can lead to them looking lackluster. Realistically they are a well oiled machine that is very balanced but idk.

SMB is due to how new they are. Also, they can flop the most out of the 3 due to their heavy aim duel playstyle. that will get shut down by SEN as no one can out aim that at this very moment.
