If anyone is confused about leaf over aspas, its because leaf adds a lot of value in his flexibility to allow other players to play comfort picks as well as all the offline value he adds through his anti-strating and planning around other teams before they face. If this value was purely mechanics or just in game value, aspas woudl be 1

Oh come on, you clearly know nothing about c9. He's only started flexing since the very end of 2021/the beginning of 2022 onto viper and skye. He played reyna or jett before that. And then he played chamber.

Aspas world champion and is a lock-in finalist.
Aspas impact the game way more than Leaf.
Don't put Aspas in the first it's like say that yay last year was not the best player in the world just because he only plays chamber.

Ok, so leaf is better than aspas because he plays more agents and yet, after the Champions lost to Loud last year, yay STILL was considered the best player of 2022 even if he was mono chamber for the most part of the year?

The thing that baffles me the most is that you guys don't get that Aspas is the best player for the level of hability and spetacular use of his utilities Aspas rarely dies before using the most of his kit, the reason why he doesn't play other agents is because he doesn't have to : he mastered Jett and until Riot makes a reasonable nerf on her, he's going to use this agent.

And what about the meta ? Loud never focus on the meta, but the gameplay of each member and how to extract the most of the agents in every role. Less in KJ and Viper is another good example of this.

But what if another duelist become viable ?

The right question is : Does Loud need other things from their prime duelist ? If no, why change ?

Aspas had trouble before Loud, he used to only play Reyna and guess what ? He was called a cheater for how good he was. I'm sure if they decide to use other comps, they can and will take some risks with their players for the sake of the team but having in mind THEIR gameplan. A gameplan that is a team effort since part of their routine is to watch VODs together.

"name 1 other jett that is also top tier on a non duelist agent" but what about "name 1 other team that has their member roles so well defined that no one has to play for the sake of the meta"

If leaf going on other roles is the best take for c9, good for them. On Loud, Aspas doesn't have to.

its a team game, being flexible adds more value to the team, because jett isnt always the best agent for every map. pure skill wise aspas is absolutely better, but there is more to being a valorant team member than playing your agent well.

flexing isn't the only point to classify a good player. aspa's much more valuable on loud than leaf on c9
i would put leaf behind aspas, but aspas is so far ahead of any other duelist in americas

I think aspas is still #1 since although leaf is more flexible, in this meta at least, jett can be played pretty much anywhere so it doesn't really matter. Its similar to yay being the best player in 2022, since although he was inflexible Optic could always make his chamber work.
