I agree with you, there is no excuse for what some europeans did but claiming we brought racism is idiotic. It must also be said that invading other lands/spreading your culture has been a thing forever too, it is in fact the part of the very basic foundation of Europe and its values, you just see this differently because its a more recent even where your ancestors are kinda involved. Genocide like the english/american did on North America is unacceptable but spreading your culture/invading others is something basically every nation on Earth has done at some point and if we are gonna cry about it then most Europeans including me should go cry to the Italian Government demanding reparations, these things are in the past and we cant do nothing about it, they will also forever be a part of what we are so we need to accept it. In the end its just classic human behaviour, stronger tribes spread their culture and weaker ones dissapear
Europeans level of racism was much worse than what was already happening in those places. There were no indigenous tribes committed genocide or forcefully indoctrinating other cultures into their belief systems and ways of life by force. Spreading ideologies like that most definitely made racism worse. Just because bad things have happened in the past don't mean we shouldn't look on them in disgust and try to do better. We all understand that war is pointless loss of life and suffering and there are things to learn and appreciate from all cultures. Do better smh.
