The best player in the world(which I don't think it's Derke btw) ≠ the most expensive player in the world
There is a lot more to that, but overall there is probably like 15 NA players worth more than Derke. Ange1, Zyppan, Shao and Suygetsu were all worth around half a million total. There are NA tier 2 buyouts that high simply for 1 player
