ratings? chess com or lichess?
its hard to escape that elo unless you are serious player
i just play for fun + you choose your starting elo
try escapin it , it would take you months
as we see in the threads many players are like 200-400 elo
Wow since when do you choose your starting elo? When i began playing the starting rate was 300-400
I think I was stuck in 900-1100 range for 6-8 months before getting out. Its pretty hard
Yikes bros below the rating you start with. You should see a few opening videos (gambits preferably because most low elo players don't know how to play those), even if you know only 1 for both black and white, you should be able to get to 800-900 easily
You sacrifice a pawn in the opening to get an advantage for later in the game
watch how to play a few gambits, shit makes it so easy to gain elo in lower elo hell
I have wanted to get into Chess and learn openings. Have been watching Gotham and Hikaru simply because itβs enjoyable, but am curious on how tedious the process is and how fast one typically learns these openings
If you're actually trying to learn all variations and shit for a opening, it'll take a shittton of time. But you just need to learn the first few moves in the beginning and understand why its beneficial for you, rest you will learn as you keep on playing and practicing. Most people dont know full openings till like 1800-1900 and it'll take you a long time to get there

I somewhat knew how to play Chess but only properly learned the rules and how to play starting on Oct. 20/2022, the same date I opened my Chess.com account in. I'm starting to like bullet a lot. I play bullet on my phone while queueing for Ranked. It's like a warmup for the brain. Love chess, wish I started playing sooner.
My main openings are London and Vienna. For black I just bring out my knights and bishop rather than playing a defence or a gambit. That is because low elo players really don't know how to play openings. They just get lost after a few moves, so I just wing it with black. It works out 99% of the times.
Chess.com - 2000 ~ 2100
Lichess - 2100 ~ 2200
But I consider myself an amateur, most guys at this level have a good understanding of openings, traps in the openings, location of the squares, bad bishops and knights, better squares for the knights, etc... I don't have any of that.
Oh okay, I'm fairly high rated in rapid on chess.com, but the moment I switch to bullet I play much worse lol. 2000 on bullet to me is just too hard.
I like to play a little fast to tilt my opponents, and when they manage to tilt me, I switch to Bullet. I stay in this cycle... Kkkk
Chess.com bullet and rapid rating around 1k-1.1k i suck at blitz
Lichess bullet rating 1.5k idk how (400ish games played)
1830 peak on 10min chess.com but I havenβt played in like 2 years
My actual peak was probably when I was part of an actual chess club at 13 and beat the at the time sub-12 pan-american champion (lost to him some other ten times tho but itβs the one that counts π)
I used to play like 10 years back when i was a kid, back then i was around 1400, now if i start playing i think it will be very much lower rating than what i had 10yrs back.
