This is a list of players from t2/t3 I think could have a stand out year and could really emerge as a top player in the future

1. verno

A great initiator player currently playing for oxg academy
Most comfortable on fade/sova, proven by his high acs
Good ladder player has hit rank 1 on na
Consistently outputting a high k/d ratio. In the playoffs of Knights monthly (playoffs) for the last 3 months: 1.44, 1.67, 1.60
Will be interesting to see how he performs going into next year.

2. zeldris

A duelist player but is flexible on other roles
Was a member of S-L-M that won Knights november tournament and Mystic singularity 2
Great stats throughout both tournaments, with a first kill presence of 0.393 per round on jett/raze (last 60d)
Great Stats as a whole

Honorable mentions:

furbsa, has a great opportunity to showcase their skills at the campus clutch with northwood
Could honestly put most of the dark ratio squad on this. Consistent high placements in the t2/t3 tournaments.
sym A consistent performer, formerly of tsm acad
clear A very flexible player, pretty reliable first contact

January update:
verno. Qualified to NA Challengers through open qualifier 1, with a 1.28 avg rating

zeldris Have both qualified to NA Challengers through the LCQ, had great numbers throughout both of the qualifiers.

sym, dark ratio, clear. Have also all qualified to challengers. (clear was suggested by comments)

furbsa and his team northwood-university won the Red Bull Campus Clutch 2022 - World Final Stage. With furbsa grabbing the mvp!

Looking forward to seeing some of these players in NA Challengers!

In fairness I did most of these based off of stats from a few T2/t3 tournaments in November and before the challengers announcement and teams (oresports didn't exist)
Dark ratio was a bit of a shoe in tbf

still wouldnt put them t1 as of writing, a handful of challengers team that are slightly better.
didnt want to put too many players from the same team. furbsa just stands out from a statistical point of view (Mainly because hes a raze player)

they are also on par with shopify rebellion which is the 2nd best team after m80, so idk what ur on here
also furbsa had lower rating than both of them so how is he better statically?

having faze m80 and guard above them is understandable but sr literally destroyed tsm the last time they played while dr put up to a fight in a bo5 and also won against them. to think g2 is better than them is just delusional, their roster atleast on paper is terrible.
also do you love furbsa or something?
how do you say you picked furbsa because of stats when youre using college tournament stats that are obviously way less important and also against way weaker opponents? if youre going to use this redbull tournament as stats atleast use the worlds one not fucking US finals qualifier lol.
to me it just sounds like you're cherrypicking stats to prove that furbsa is a talent when he is not even the best one in the team and is also inconsistent af

dark3st or cohburg are also good players, if i had done a deeper dive into the stats/watched vods maybe they wouldve been picked.
i just picked furbsa as an honourable mention just because I thought he would do well at redbull, based off the only qualifier they played as a team

Post season update.
The VCL Challengers NA 2023 season has now come to an end for all these players.

1. verno

Wow. What a debut season for Verno, he really put himself on the map.
Team-wise he was a key part of Oxygens success as they climbed from open qualifiers to top 4 in Challengers North America.
Oxygen as a team really grew throughout the season, starting with a 6th place finish in split 1 to 3 succesive top 4 finishes (MSI, Split 2 and Playoffs)
Individually, he had a standout season with an overall 1.14 rating , 215.5 acs , 1.22kd and a 56% first kill winrate. (data used)
Scan initiator: He ends the season as the highest rated Sova in the league with a 1.26 rating , 233.2 acs and a 61% first kill winrate (data used)
Standout game: OXG vs G2 in the quarter finals of the playoffs, a 1.7 rating on haven is absurd.
Highlight: 4k on haven vs Faze, this sealed the game + the reaction from Bonkar is funny.

2. zeldris

A solid start and a foundation to spring forward into next year.
His team OREsports performed mostly as expected, coming in as the lowest seed the season was always going to be tough.
A disappointing split 1 had left them with 0 wins, after a few changes to the roster they finished split 2 with a respectable 2-3 record though this wasn't enough to prevent the team from going into the play-in-relegation.
Most importantly, OResports retained their NA VCL spot after coming 2nd in the relegation event, beating the likes of Mad Lions and Disguised to secure the spot
Individually speaking the numbers won't be as eye catching due to OREsports struggling for a large portion of the season, though for the relegation playoffs Zeldris had a 1.13 rating, 228.1 acs , 1.2kd and a 57% first kill win rate (data used)
Standout game: 2-0 versus DSG in the relegation event, with a 1.36 rating and 254 acs in the series
Highlights: 1v3 vs TSM

Honourable mentions:

furbsa
- Furbsa was picked due to the opportunity to succeed with Northwood University, as they cemented themselves as the best collegiate team in the world.
- Highest rated player in the College VALORANT Championship grand final and a 1.23 rating in the whole event.
Dark Ratio
- Dark ratio went into the season as the "T2/3 offseason kings" and came out as a shell of what once was
- The team underwent multiple changes once they were signed to mad lions, though they were still relegated.
sym
- Sym's team was quickly signed by moist-moguls which led to the team quickly improving and ending the season as the 3rd best team in the league, which sadly meant they missed out on the ascension tournament.
- Sym ended the season as one of the most aggressive duelists in the league with a 0.457 (fk+fd) per round, the highest first kill involvement in the league.
clear suggested by nutab1e and Blanc_cataloq
- A very tough season for clear as he started as a duelist/viper and was pushed towards the pure-flex role.
- Despite the season being rough for Disguised, learning and experiencing at a higher level will always be a success.

Not all of them were crazy "Hot takes" but making predictions before qualifiers is always risky, a few upsets and you could be out for the whole seaosn.
