what are thoughts of people of vlr on this team ?
They likely aren't going to do well (bottom 3 in my books), but:
ScreaM is still star level individual player (obviously reminds to see can this roster support it)
Nivera is still decent player and has shown high peaks even tho I wasn't huge fan of him 2022.
XMS looked good in tier 2 and I think he could do decent as supportive player.
And biggest of all they get to comminucate in their native language. People don't understand how big of a advantage teams get who get to communicate in their native languages. EMEA is like only region with majority of non-native speaking rosters. Even in CSGO FaZe 2022 was like first non-native speaking team ever to win CSGO Major. Like imagine if teams like Fnatic, Liquid, NaVi etc would all be native English speakers or Russian speakers etc. It will give huge advantage to KCorp and could make players like Nivera perform better. Obviously its going to limit their capabilities of changing players in the future tho.
Yeah no, that's the issue, same one BBL and fut have. There's just not enough talent in their countries to make a contender team. (Turkey could if they had cned and alfajer available and talent not so spread, but not like this). Tbh russia and is pretty much the best country that could be contender for anything in EMEA with a national team
Sure, but don't you think if he is free agent is for a reason? Don't get me wrong he is a tier 1 player, just not a player that would turn KC into a contender for anything.
Edit: And actually now that I think about it Finland could also be one of those few nations that could make a full national team that would contend for everything imo
Dude turkey has shit ton of talent, even current FUT roster is insane mechanically wise. Onur and Engh both said the same about them. Also look at their regional league.
France is lacking talents. Region needs couple of years to grow their domestic league. Spain too. Hope riot will keep 3 domestic player rule and they will grow.
Russia doesn't have numbers in terms of viewers, but have lots of talent. All their pros will join eu regional leagues. Riot should give them CIS league next season or their players will replace lots of Spain, Italian, French, Polaris, Turkish players in next years which will damage these leagues on long term.
Yeah Turkey does have a shit tone of talent, just not title contenders yet other than the cned and alfajer, and they're not available to make a full Turkish team
Yeah we lack talent, but we got 3 orgs and that's good enough for me. And about the 3 regional player per league, they are gonna keep that rule. Bu there is another rule, starting from this year, every player that plays 2 splits in a league becomes regional. For example it's already happening in Spain with Rebels. Rebels it's keeping a 6 man roster with Gatsh, Janny, and Vokashu rotating the places in order to make them be regional for next year.
Yeah sad that there's not a CIS VRL but it's understandable why they didn't
every player that plays 2 splits in a league becomes regional
I don't like it at all cz next season if Riot will not open CIS league, whole Spain regional league will be full of CIS players. Then how will domestic Spanish players grow? This might kill the idea of domestic leagues itself. Hope riot will change this rule. I really belive in domestic leagues and the idea that regions will grow in 3-5 years.
Imagine: Spain has 3 big orgs in major league now. In 5 years they could have full tier1 spanish rosters if your tier 2 league will grow (it eventually will with 3 players rule). The same with Turkey and France. So whole countries will support their national players and organizations which will lead to more viewership.
Yeah and no. I mean they can increase the number of splits but I don't dislike the rule. There is a tier 3 circuit to start growing talent and tbf if a player wants to make VRL they need some minimums, I don't buy the idea of forcing 30 regional players if they don't have the level. And also arguably by doing that you would create more Spanish tier 2 players, but less Spanish tier 1 players since the level would obviously be lower. So it does have it's downs but it also has it's ups and it works the same way in LOL for example and in my opinion it's pretty successful so I don't see why it wouldn't here.
Also that rule rewards longterm projects and big investments, even allows the possibility to create an ascension roster on every league and create more competitiveness so some leagues don't just stay behind forever
I mean I'm not completely sure but what I'm sensing here is that they are applying everything they did in LOL they actually liked how turned out, and remaking everything that they didn't like how it turned out (Like not giving orgs full control over spots etc). At the end of the day LOL competitive system was created many years ago and I feel like they've learned a lot.
But that's just my opinion tho, we can't really know how good of decisions this are until we actually see the long term results. I'm really really excited tho, I love the ascension and own version of franchising idea
ah yes because the top 3 team in the world replacing one of their players with an even better player in the same role is not good, right? if navi is not good, then literally every franchising team in NA must be straight garbage because as much as i love NA, navi clears pretty much every franchised team there.
Ange1 is starting to get too old.
It's obvious when fpx choked a 9-3 against DRX and not winning a single round on attack side.
Also Cned does not fit NAVI.
If it's not obvious, he has more impact when he plays very aggressively.
But fpx system has more structured and controlled playstyle.
So Cned would not do as well on NAVI.
How? First you have Fnatic, NaVi and TL who are strong on paper and would argue that Fnatic and Navi look stronger than any NA team atm. Then you have team like KOI, who got Koldamenta, Trexx and Barbarr from Guild who looked better than XSET during Copenhagen only losing to FPX and PRX. And then they have Sheydos and starxo who are both good (esp Sheydos) and Wolfen who is talent in the making. Giants has really good talent on board even tho I'm not sure about Rhyme's IGLing yet because we haven't seen it much. Again the core of nukkye, hoody and Pipson didn't do that well in Iceland because they peaked during EMEA playoffs, but still placed similar to DRX while underperforming compared to their online form. And Vitality has bunch of potential as well.
People are just overrating NA because of "how well they did in Champions" while Liquid placed higher than 100T, Fnatic eliminated 100T, Fnatic placed same as XSET and FPX eliminated XSET. Only OpTic placed 2nd where FPX placed 4th. For most of last year NA was OpTic only. Add to that that EMEA team's map pools were terrible in Champions because their Pearls were so shit.
