Faker has been the face of the world's biggest eSports for almost 10 years, he has no scandals, controversies, while being one of the top competitors in the game. Not to mention not only does he play the game well, SKT's coaching staff were picked so that Faker could discuss strategies and the vision of the game with them.
In a sense, he is like Lionel Messi where he rose to fame through pure physical talent, but with age, transitioned to a playmaking/supportive role. Faker is also captain of his team, and from what I've read it seems like he has a lot of input in coaching as well.
Yeah sure, but what makes you say that he is better than s1mple? He plays a far easier game, a game which also didnt have much history around it back then, and had a good team. S1mple on the other hand played with 3 bot team mates and sometimes even beat the greatest team of all time. He has only been improving over the years, and already got his goat status in CS long before he even won his major.

...wat? based off player numbers alone league is a "harder" game, but putting that aside they are not even similar games at all. One is MOBA one is FPS...?

You are coping. And also know nothing about League.
Faker is so good and has been so good that a lot of teams had the single strategy of just perma camping him so he couldn't do anything. Yet the guy soaked up all that pressure and still became relevant in the late game.
S1mple is the GOAT of CS, but not as many people play CS compared to League of Legends, that's just a fact. You can argue even that the lifetime of a league pro is shorter than CS as well, and Faker has been in the scene for so long his teammates have become his coaches. No matter how good you are, there is always some cracked Chinese/Korean zoomer who is more desperate to play and more talented than you are. The League eSports landscape in Korea and China is too big.
Doesn't help that Worlds literally has the shittiest major tournament format ever. Single elimination playoff bracket.
From what i have played League is just a easier Dota. I played that game for around 1k hours. So i think i know a bit about Mobas. The issue for me is that s1mple is the goat of CS WHILE every single metric was against him. He always had to to play with shit players in a shitty enviorment, against the greatest team of all time, had his peak when there were no majors, has been in the conversation for best player in the world for 6 years, and has improved every single year. Now while his country gets invaded, his family is endangered, and he hasnt seen his home for over half a year, there still isnt even a debate on who will be the best player of 2022.
The enviorment he has been in has been so unbelievably bad, that it is even unreal that he is in the conversation of being the best CS:GO player, but he puts everybody to shame. Which is just unreal to me. There has never been somebody who had so many odds stacked against him and still is that good, i am sorry, but in this aspect Faker doesntn come close. Thats like Jordan, who was called the best even back when he never won a title.
how is that even relevant, you act like Faker comes from a privileged family. The guy grew up with a single father and lived in poverty. Sure, it's not as dramatic as s1mple, but you act like Faker hasn't gone through hardship either.
And fucking dramabaiting does not make s1mple a better gamer than Faker lol. Even at peak s1mple had a rival - Zywoo. (not necessarily better, but someone who cane very close) Faker literally had no one to match his skill at his peak, that's how dominant he was.

Faker also had to deal with shit players too. Guess where he got with them? Worlds grand finals in 2018. Literally solocarried a shit team to finals.

"And has improved every single year" ok buddy, you literally have no idea what you're talking about. Faker has also improved every single year. Faker literally changed his entire playstyle from hypercarry to supportive playmaker and still gets not only results, but great performances.
Reading what you wrote it just seems like you think s1mple is the better player solely because you like his story. That's it. No other reason at all. You can like him for that but it doesn't make him the better player lol.
i think you're the on taking it personally considering part of your only reasoning for s1mple being the best player is that he played well when there were no Majors lol..sounds like bias to me.
like i said, you can like s1mple, but you can't justify him being the best player and talk about "skill", then bring up his life story instead of his gameplay.

Nope. Wrong. Even when zywoo got #1, it still 50-50 with s1mple being #2. But when s1mple got #1 , he just Miles away from other players
I love zywoo, his rifling skill might be slightly better than s1mple. But s1mple peak (for me at 2018) was a masterpiece. Probably no one ever watch that kind of performance ever again.
He has good aim, and? This could make you the best awper but this alone doesnt make you the best rifler. He aint even in the top 3 of french scene in CS:GO. KennyS, Shox and Zywoo are and were all better. RPK was literally the greatest source player and NBK is also a contender since he is the complete package.
