Low FPS in Valorant

I have 3070 and i7 9700k with BenQ 2540 240hz monitor, and all settings on low, and I can't get 240 fps, I sometimes can barely get 180. In CS I get like 400-500 fps on most maps, but in valorant I can't. I've set the priorites and affinites, and the graphics settings and the power plan shit and no improvement.

idk, much about pcs but i heard Valorant relies mostly on CPU rather than GPU... so maybe get a better CPU

yeah I've done all of these, and has a similar gpu in the 3090 and gets 300-400 which I should be getting

Quit CPU-Heavy Apps, use Full-Windowmode, dont watch Twitch on your 2nd screen during games and thats basically it.
Your computer is fine tho, dw. Youve got yourself a fine machine.

Other than this. Maybe check for viruses and stuff. Also turning off some startup apps boosted my fps by a ton. not that it was much anyways sadge.

i get 150-200 fps with a 1660 and ryzen 5 3600. 144hz monitor with vsync on usually when playing

switch your refresh rate to 144hz if you cant get to 240hz. Turn on gsync if you haven't yet to and turn off v sync if turned on. You're lucky to get 180fps lmao I only play at 60-90 in 60hz monitor and Im still banging up kids

The only good answer under this solution, is my. maybe ignore he india answer, whatever. The problem is valorant needs single core performance and the i7 lacks i had i7 8700k and rtx2080 and only 190fps. now i go to ryzen 5600x and i have +350 avg. maybe upgrade cpu and mainboard to ryzen

Valorant just plays better with Ryzen 5000 series, the IPC gains are huge. https://www.computerbase.de/2020-11/amd-ryzen-5000-test/4/

Also what clockspeed are you running your CPU on. Have you checked if there is thermal throttling?

My ryzen 5 3500X with Gtx 1660 super can run as high as 460 fps at highest setting.
There's no way 9700k with 3070 only 180 fps.

Because fps =/= monitor refresh rate. Former is how much frames ur hardware can show per second and latter is how frequently ur monitor show new picture. They won't come in perfect sync if u just cap ur fps at 60. The more fps the better. 60 in this case is just bare minimum to see somewhat smooth picture.

I wish I had a 144 hz monitor at least. A lot of ppl say that is a game changer. Btw I feel a lot of diffence if I limit my fps at 60.

I feel it is better 180fps during my game plays even my monitor 60hz

i have a worse CPU and worse GPU and i get 220+ FPS. You should fix your Nvidia Settings maybe. I can Send you my NVIDIA settings if you want (2080 Super GPU)
