how can people be saying drop stellar when you have a new 100T squad winning lcq and beating teams at LAN?

if you asked anyone on this website after copenhagen whether dephhh was one of the best igls everyone would say no. XSET BOMBED OUT of their first LAN. WORSE than 100T. The only difference is the timing of franchising which gave xset another opportunity.

So if you think right now that dephhh is one of the best igls in NA and think that stellar should be dropped for zander you are contradicting yourself

btw zander has no LAN exp, had one decent run in opens before getting smacked in closed quals by actually good teams, doesn't matter if you're a 'fragging igl' if your strats are getting exposed.

I think zander is a tier 2 player I don't hate him

it's just if he makes it into franchising and puts up mid performances he'll probably stay in the system a while, maybe get passed around a few times all while taking away a slot from better players that I think aren't overhyped

still none of those igls had as good of performances on their first tournament as a new team, NV took a while to heat up, Dephh & Valyn bombed out of first LAN and Zander didn't qual

obviously it's a team game but I think 100t might have something really special on their hands right now and it would be a shame to ruin it

What kind or argument is that teams took a while to heat up, what does that have to do with the IGL's? They've improved since then, that's a good thing and yeah sure 100T has great chemistry but they have like 5 months to build it again, setting the celling of the team higher

I mean if you think it's best to pick up the most mechanically talented players and group them together, hoping that sgares can teach them how to play smart = highest skill ceiling

I think there's a type of intelligence and chemistry that can't be taught, I want to see this squad given a real chance thats all

I think Zander has more potential, especially with Sgarres coaching him, but I think stellar is also pretty good, and more likely to stay. Zander has a crazy expensive contract with V1 and I don't think a lot of orgs think he is worth the price of the buyout right now. He has insane potential though.

the truth is we will never really know how good of an igl either of them are, only the coach can decide if stellar wasn't a capable igl

fire power wise zander is better imo but that isn't important for the igl role and stellar isn't bad either in that department

if the coach and the players see him as a capable igl they will keep him otherwise they will definitely tryout other igls

imo zander isn't really an igl he said so himself tbh, he isn't a midround caller apperantly that's why i don't feel like zander is the best choice either way

Fragging is important in any role. A IGL who can frag and that can lead a team is what any team would look for. And from what i’ve heard Zander IGLing is weak but his mid rounding is fine

ur missing the point, i'm saying fire power isn't what makes a great igl let alone being the factor that you change igls depending on it.

fns is ur biggest example, sure he could be a better fragger but wouldn't you put him in any top team just bcz he is such a good igl?

If you think dephh wasnt one of the best IGLs, it would be very dumb. XSET was pretty much always 4th place every time in NA last year and after 100T and SEN fell off, XSET became undisputed one of the best teams in NA. Top 4 NA challengers 1, with fluke from the guard, Stage 2 NA winner. 2-0'ed Ghost, 100T, NRG and won against the guard as well. It was honestly a surprise how shit they played in copenhagen. Karma of too much shit talk i guess (Scream M2, SEN after M2, FPX champs).

As of right now keep Stellar. But if he proves to be inconsistent drop him for upcoming talent like Zander who has more of a fragging capability or Dephh. There are a couple of IGL’s with more fragging capability or simply better strats that are available but I think they should wait.

Sign zander to be 6th, start stellar bc he is better rn, have Sgarres coach zander to fill stellar's role, and when zander proves he can be a top tier igl have him fill stellar's role, zander has super high potential but a low floor, stellar has a good floor rn and is the safe option

Why does everyone love Zander so much? Since he joined V1 the best result they got was 5/6 at Stage 1 2022. Why should the IGL of a washed up essentially bottom T2 team that bombed out in open quals of stage 2 and has been just playing smaller tourneys (that they don’t even win) be in franchising. If he’s good enough, let him prove that in the ascension league and maybe he’ll get on those teams one day.
