Ec1s did an interview after he left 100T and he didnt really say that he didnt listen but it was super super heavily implied
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEZ6lEaqH-k
"The practice (in EU) is a lot more serious, while NA is a lot more laid back"
"Ethan wanted to stay on his comfort pick of skye instead of using a kayo" (Which was a big deal in the meta at the time)
"Me and Ethan didn't really see eye to eye on some situations."
Listen, I'm not going to call Ec1s a liar by any means, but after he left Ethan was playing Sova and Chamber for 100T, so not sure about the whole not willing to adapt + he had played Breach, Fade, Kayo for NRG. I think there were plenty of issues with the Hiko, Asuna, BabyJ, Ec1s roster, but I find it hard to believe Ethan not willing to be flexible was one of them, or he changed after the situation, but who knows.
He actually talks about the 0-13 comp if youd like to listen

It sounds like they overpowered him even as the IGL
Yeah, I'll give it a listen. I was just giving my opinion on it. I think the whole roster was a cluster fuck tbh and everyone had their issues for it failing. I heard a lot about BabyJ having a shit attitude and even getting in an argument with someone on the roster, which resulted in one of the reasons for being dropped. Which I don't doubt after seeing what some pros think of him the last few months.
All the problems:
Hiko and Ethan too much experience and say over IGL
Ethan moves into Hiko's Sova/Late initiator role
Hiko moves to Sentinel lurk role
Asuna moves into flex role
Babyj is signed
Everyone moves back
Asuna isnt comfortable on the Jett op
Ethan doesnt want to play kayo
Practice is almost too relaxed and open
Werent able to stay consistent from hot and cold days
100t at that time was going nowhere so cant really say it’s a bad transfer when they barely played. only the full reset by getting ddk sgares etc was the solution.
guild’s entire gameplan was centered on twisten and not yacine but got f because of riot rules. cant really fault teams making last minute changes.
c9 though lmao
