Best format to Champions

HEY GUYS!! 🙌🏻

Lately I was reading some news about Valorant Champions, and every time I see the actual format of this tournament, I feel sick cause it's really weird and 'hype-killer'... But I also think it's ridiculous just complain and not show a better alternative. So, thinking like this, I did a Valorant Champions format of almost everyone has talked about at least once in this site (Champions with 24 slots) and put a good effort + a lot of time to make this clearly as possible to everyone... (not really difficult to understand, but whatever)

What do you guys think about this? I made the formats of the slots and LCQ according to the actual point standings of this VCT after Masters Copenhagen) and a did a hopium simulation too, using this format I made.
But, I really want to know what would you guys change and if you liked this Champions format. Hope you guys enjoy it! 😃

EDIT: I didn't put it before, but the group stage would be with 2 matches at same time, with 6 games per day (Like CS:GO Contenders and Challengers Stage) ...... Playoffs being just 1 match, 3 games per day

Yeah I like A LOT of this format too... I saw this thread before, but this format being so close to CS:GO, Riot probably won't make this, since they want to do things different from Valve (at least I guess they don't want to)

honestly i wouldn't know if it's close to cs:go, i've never played the game :D

came from rocket league, val is my first shooter game too

rocket league has swiss stage into playoffs, which is why i suggested it (W system W esports)

I play Rocket League too!!! And watch the last RLCS (Furia almost got there 😢) and they use the same format of CS:GO

About the aesthetically part... I'm not sure, but I think that I have OCD(obsessive-compulsive disorder) about organization cause I really hate to see things messy 😅

Very good slots distribution but I would prefer the Group to be swiss system like csgo majors or 2 groups of 12 where all teams play eachother in bo2 like this https://liquipedia.net/dota2/The_International/2021, a format similar to the TI would give us a lot of interregional matchups and we would get to see teams play everyone and see how they match up against different styles + it wouldnt be like currently where you start poorly and lose 2 matches and you are out, it would give teams a lot of matches to improve during the tournament, the only is that it might be bad for casual viewers since it would be too many matches which would require at least 3 matches to be played at the same time in different streams for it to not last literally weeks, also I feel like it would be hard to follow since the common valorant fan doesnt know about vlr and personally I think most casuals would just wait for playoffs but overall I still think its the best format possible

Really good suggestion, but I think it would extend too much the duration of the tournament, which would make casual viewers kind of discouraged to continue following the championship till the end... But you have a really solid point since I would watch every game for sure

Btw, as I said in #9, I think that Riot don't want to do something too similar to Valve's tournaments to not being compared, that's why I made this similar "FIFA's World Cup" format

Sure but I mean valve didnt really invent the format or anything, they just use it because it makes sense, I dont feel anybody who has a bit of brain would say the copied it, the fact it would extend too much the duration of the tournament can be solved with having a B and C stream, also since its bo2 it allows teams to play at least 2 matches a day, I doubt it extending too much would be a problem, imo the real problem would be getting the casual fans to understand where and when matches would be played

Besides each regions 1 "god run" jp/br have mediocre results so why do they get 2 slots when kr only gets 1 when they consistently get 5-6? Why is 5-6 considered bad anyway? 5/6 out of the world is usually considered good...

You have 1 fatal flaw in your assumption. the problem is, Riot wants to broadcast every game at LAN one at a time, this means no games in playoffs/ groupstage can be played at the same time which means a prolonged tournament that lasts more than a month possibly even 2, (this is how riot has been doing it since LoL) and I don’t see indie game company changing their philosophy anytime soon.

Also for a round of 16 playoffs, it’s much more efficient to have single elim tbh. Groups is there for a reason.

They should do it like csgo. 16 team play-in. 16 team tournament. Single elim playoffs. Honestly the double elim seems kinda amateur (no actual sports run it)
