This is true Idk why its getting downvoted.
Its very common to give prize money 4-5 months or even a year after the tournament ended.
Prize money is different from salary. Salary is paid normally, prize money is a different case.
A lot of TOs don't actually have the money they promise as prize money beforehand. It is just a promised amount by their sponsors. They have to bring in a certain amount of engagement before the sponsors actually give them the money. Proving engagement and all other tasks takes a good 4-5 months.
just like in an office job you expect salary after you work a month ( not exactly but something like this), the company earns from the work you do. in esports to earn money from sponsors which they get after the tournament is done, like someone mentioned above depending on the expected viewership criteria is met and stuff. 4-5 months is minimum, and ideally it shouldnt be more than 8 months
