Went to bed after seeing DRX lose both pistols.
I knew it was over by then.
Woke up hoping to God I was proven wrong, that DRX aren't choking.

Well, it happened for like the 4th time I guess.

DRX aren't beating Suygetsu FPX or FNC/LEV and they are not beating OpTic or even PRX on the rematch. This is as far as they'll go honestly. I fuckin knew it lol, I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up after Map 1.

God I should just stop watching professional Valorant because this shit is not good for my mental health. I came in with "Top 6 is all I expect from DRX" expectations and I still fucking fell for it. Fuck me I guess.

Honestly, I've already recovered from today's match
Yeah they whiffed on a lot of opportunities to convert rounds, but overall they did pretty well against who I think is the best team in the world atm
I am confident that they can beat FPX again
And from there its a toss-up for the following games, but you never know what'll happen
Even if DRX lose I know that they will put the work in to correct their mistakes

The round they lost, RB decides to walk instead of hold with 17 secs remaining, Mako whiffs while all 3 attackers are looking away. Buzz as a chamber plays the worst positions for the agent (what playing KJ does to a chamber). And peeks after a flash immediately instead of just waiting for yays op to shoot once. Zest played great tho.
Ik its hindsight but holy fuck man their individual mistakes and mental are the problem they are having.

Honestly I still don't understand what I watched in DRX vs Optic. I understood how FNC lost to the chaotic playstyle of PRX with jinggg and forsaken just going ballistic with the help of mindfreak and benkai and davai ofc. But the way DRX played fracture felt like they came in strong. Probably got overconfident in breeze with their peeks and somehow had no answers to anything optic threw at them. The fact that we got two 13-4s with no resistance at all until map 3 still feels like something is off.

Its optic heating up. They're the most insane team at adapting in this tournament. They shown it last tournament too. The longer you play them the smarter their calls get and decision making. Its really hard to beat them twice as a result.

The thing people forget is that drx is literally the youngest team in this tourney. They are just inexperienced and obviously nervous. They are getting better and when they are literally not choking on air they are great. It is inevitable that they will have podium finishes and that they will be one of the longer lasting teams in the scene. Just hope that their time comes with a couple of trophies.

The thing is that Drx play good valorant. They have good executes and strats which are fun to see. Thats why people hype them up. Only if they have good mental they can live up to their hype. Really hope one day they overcome their mental block and stand true to thier hype.

I think plat chat said it best on their podcast: Not once have I seen DRX improve through a tournament. They do the same stuff against the weaker teams in groups who they dominate, and they do the same stuff against stronger teams who anti-strat them and are better.

They can create as many executes or set strats as they want, but they don't understand what makes the good teams in valorant win.

DRX can beat FPX. I don't think Shao is gonna carry them again as hard as on Haven last time. Yes, Suygetsu is a great player, but DRX looked better against FPX.

But the main problem is that DRX has poor mental and uses the same strats against all teams. So it's very likely that FPX completely anti-strats them this time and the poor mental isn't gonna help at all.

I hope DRX can pull it back, because they are a great team and have the potential to be a dominant force in the future given how young they are. But they need a top 3 finish this time so that they can stay motivated enough and the KR scene doesn't die (arguably already dead).

I fan both Optic and Prx but the next 3 days will be my best and worst day of my life (its over dramatic)

because Prx finally defeat a EU team (arguably strongest now) and Optic ?? been follow since nv food roster and El diablo of course

I want Optic to lose because first Prx can get grand final which is huge W for Asian scene and fans to at some degree view it as 'big region'
there are chance we can see Optic vs Fnatic in lower final which is hype and Optic gonna crush EU best roster team because why not ?? kekw
