Normally i wouldnt care but this is fucked
i went to check HLTV for TL, thats the only NA team i keep up with. I dont check often because it usually hurts to see, being an NA team, but still, i was there. I got baited by a forum post called na come, so i looked, and its a ton of people making fun of some kid whose dad completely destroyed his PC?

Most of the comments are "deserved" and shit. The poor guy was playing in a tournament and his dad told him to get off, obviously he refused being mid tourney and his dad fuckin smashed everything? why are these guys commending the dad for being abusive? wtf?

My mother did a similar thing when my brother for a straight month refused to visit our grandparents so he could play with his friends while also neglecting his studies (he had two very important exams that month). My brother was pissed obviously but it was mostly his fault, he didn't listen to any of our advice and my mom grew impatient. I don't think destroying everything was a great move, maybe the father could have just hidden his stuff.

i don't think it's that deep, we don't know the situation, did his dad ask him multiple times and the kid ignored? did his dad ask once and then did that? or was the kid doing this and skipping school or was he getting addicted and not listening to his parents for a while?
in some situations if the kid doesn't listen and ignores the parents all the time then some kind of punishment is bound to happen, smashing it like this is very crazy but maybe he reached a point where the kid won't listen unless he did that.
anyway i don't like to give a judgment if i don't know the situation fully which is everything on the internet
idk man i come from a family where if my dad seriously yold me to stop playing i would just listen to him ot play sneakily without him realising and if it affected my school and he found out he would just remove it from my room until i started doing good in school.
idk man every family is different, don't stand with the kid or the dad it's such a trivial matter imo

I'm really sad saying this, but that's actually great advice for me atm. In almost the exact same situation, except for the fact that my mom doesn't keep making excuses, but their lives are simply too intertwined after 35+ years. I guess its just different values depending on where you are from mixed with baits and trolls. In some cultures you aren't supposed to disrespect your parents at all and this can be seen as disrespecting by some.
