Oh no, you misinterpreted my comment. This is more criticism to how NA esports orgs operate and how they don't care about their players and would leave them high and dry easily. Case in point, NA CSGO, NA Dota. This hunt for content and the next big thing is bound to leave people jobless. I'm not hoping for anything, I'm waiting for the inevitable. You think a single region can handle 30 top tier orgs? What about VCT and the fact only 8 of those will play in it and only 3 will go to champions? That leaves the other 27 having overpaid in salaries. It's bound to happen. LCS, the biggest NA esports league, has space for 12 orgs. The market is oversaturated, a huge bubble that will inevitably implode.

That's their business model, invest early and jump ship as soon as they realize there is no space for them.

yep, way too many orgs in NA valorant right now picking up teams/players that have no business being salaried. it's incredibly unsustainable. 75% of these currently salaried teams wont even sniff tier 1 valorant (this roster included), so these orgs are basically lighting money on fire. it'd be cool if it was sustainable, but it just isn't

NA Valorant is currently the most paid esport scene in any game. But Valorant isn't the finished article and isn't even close to being the biggest esport. It's inevitable.

With a little research I've made a list. NA scene currently has at least 25 top orgs that pay big wages. At the best scenario where Valorant becomes as big as LoL, only half of them will stay in the scene, that will leave 50% of these players wageless. Most likely scenario is 8 of them will be able to stay and just like basto said, 75% of them will jump ship.

Considering that these many salaried teams are investing in Valorant when there aren't even any LANs yet is amazing, especially amidst a pandemic. Not only that, esports is changing, with many rosters prioritizing their players streaming alongside pro play, having a branded personality etc. I didn't misinterpret your comment. Maybe your intentions, but not your comment. You literally said you cannot wait, and I just explained to you what happens when a scene implodes. People lose jobs and dreams are crushed. Being excited for that type of thing isn't something I'd partake in at all. Personally, I'd rather believe that orgs who've invested thousands upon thousands into these salaries have a better type of ROI plan than some guy on the internet. I mean, I surely wouldn't invest money into an org who doesn't know whether or not their involvement in an eSport will be profitable in some way. Most of these orgs are primarily funded by sponsors and shareholders. There's just no way. And I'm not going to sit here and shit on EG for wanting to expand their eSports franchise either. Especially in such a groundbreaking way with this mixed team. Comparing an FPS to a MOBA is just.... Lol. CSGO has way many more random salaried teams in EU and NA. Scene's fine, Valorant is just as popular. Don't agree about popularity factor due to playercount? That's not the metric shareholders are looking at. Valorant tourneys still almost match CSGO tourneys, only short by a couple thousand depending on comparative scale. You may not know what I'm talking about but I sure do. It is a hyper negative narrative and your excitement proves it. The moment this new team loses with little to no practice together, you're jumpin in these comments saying they've already lost to randoms. SRN just signed a new roster who've they've practiced with for longer too. SRN could easily be tier 1 potential now depending on their performance today but this isn't how you want to see things.

I never said investors are doing a shitty job (although most times they do that's why there's been countless bankrupt esports orgs throughout the years), they know what they are doing and they will come off with little to no loss at worst. What I said is that they will have to throw many players under the bus, just like they did in csgo, dota, hearthstone, starcraft, heroes of the storm etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc they will cashgrab what they can by having "a brand new team in a brand new game with brand new potential esports personalities and brand new content to showcase their brand new sponsors". Vitality has already signed FrenzyGoKill. It only remains for the organization to make it official.

Some time ago there was talk that Fnatic was going to sign SUMN FC, since then I don't know anything more about that. At one point it seemed that it was not going to materialize, then the possibility returned, but there is still nothing concrete.

Alliance presents its roster tomorrow.

I think the fact that NA teams have entered the Valorant faster is because of the downfall of their CS: GO scene and the swtich of many good players to Valorant. In Europe CS continues to be popular especially in the north, which means that many teams cannot leave their CS team for a team of Valorant as many teams in NA (100Thieves, Eunited, etc) did, and if they cannot do that many cannot afford to maintain both teams.
I think that over time, when the competitive scene grows more and it is economically profitable for teams to enter the game they will. I would say that in the next 6 months or 1 year

On the other hand, NA teams are more risky when it comes to making investments and that is why they entered Valorant before the scene takes hold. European teams (except G2), tend to be more careful when investing and that is why I think they will wait for the scene to be stronger. It is only a matter of time since if there is something that RIOT knows how to do, it is to have a strong and economically profitable competition.

I have mixed feeling about this. Aleksandar and Temperature are both cracked players and Osias is also cracked but inconsistent. Then you have Potter and clawdia who I don't know too much about. I love how they actually don't have to make a separate team just to justify signing a woman(meaning the fact that they signed them because of their skill, not to make an all female team for gender equality reasons). Potter and clawdia are the 2 biggest unknowns to whether this team will be successful or not. If they do well, not only will EG be a good team but this could mean we could see more mixed gender teams instead of the bs all female teams.
