Few teams in EU looking at finding 5th's for LCQ and could really see some APAC players picked up
As much as I hate the cynicism of the posts above me, I do agree that they are talented players, but there's something... missing. I don't mind if OCE players pop up in other regions but having been a spectator when Riot NA almost killed OCE in League and early Valorant, I just want them to flourish organically in their domestic region, not saying an international excursion won't do them any good.
I just don't want to see another EXO Clan/Soniqs situation ever again.
I believe the player you're thinking of is swerl (the guys who goes nuclear on Haven C site). He's an 18 year old from Iran (moved to AU) and is absolutely cracked. This guy is a one in a million talent and could genuinely be the best player to touch the game if he gets the right coach and IGL piloting him. Hopefully he gets noticed in EU because this kid is a monster.
Here is his twitter if people want to look more into him:

as much as I would like this to be true I legitimately cannot take the opinion of TS_ChedZ 2.0 seriously (lul). While this guy seems pretty cracked I'm unsure if it's prudent to be saying he could be the best player to ever touch the game.
yeah after checking the vlr he's like consistently 3rd/4th on his team, granted he's playing smokes but that's no excuse considering players like sScary and MaKo were fragging out (MaKo was topfrag during a lot of Masters Berlin games last year and sScary has always been a demon)
edit: if you look at the history of most currently top rated players they were actually fragging out a TON before moving to the teams that put them on the board. Yay for example was clearing topfrag on his team almost every game for ANDBOX while playing more agents.
okay, won't disagree with that last sentence, but if he's not playing at peak performance consistently, that is also on him to be consistent. Yay's consistency never came about because of FNS. He's always been consistent, ever since ANDBOX. Same goes for this kid, he's obviously not gonna be fixed just by a good IGL and coach. He's going to need to work on it himself as well. You absolutely CANNOT blame inconsistency solely on the team environment. This is the same mentality as "I'm Gold 3, but if I had better teammates I'd be Immortal."
