Red Bull announces £24k EU Invitational

Red Bull has announced a new £24,000 European invitational featuring seven invited teams and one qualified team to be held on January 28-31.

The event will feature a single-elimination, best-of-five bracket with a special series win condition: should one team win both their initial map pick and their opponents subsequent map pick — or vice-versa — the team immediately wins the entire series. Otherwise, the series will be played out in full as a standard Bo5 match.

I dislike the inclusion of NiP and Liquid over a guarantee of a top CIS team or more Turkish teams. Heretics must have declined the invitation for them to not be included and I wish we could see more of them before the VCT starts.

No Heretics or FPX :( should be a G2 vs Sumn final unfortunately. Maybe Guild or Liquid can make it to the final but no FPX or Heretics makes this tournament a whole lot less interesting
