zombs did not get dropped because of poor performances imo his performances were fine considering the extreme selfless role he plays. The main reason for dropping him is to change the culture of the team. Ever since rejkavik last year the culture of the team has just been one of not grinding causing them to fall off and imo zombs is one of the main reasons for this culture taking place with his non grind attitude. Adding kanepeki one of the best rising tier 2 talent who is known for having some of the best work ethic in all of Valorant will change the culture of the team and if a culture shift takes place I believe sen can be one of the best teams in NA again. Again prefacing I don't think zombs lack anything skill wise imo this decision is best for both parties because maybe zombs will wake up and become a grinder like he used to be

i completely agree and i dont know how other people have not yet realized this. I feel like its quite clear even from the first lan that zombs would be the downfall not because of his skills (cause the dude is seriously really good, the stats dont do him ANY justice at all), but simply because of the fact that zombs is one of those talents that doesnt like working hard. Its been seen from his previous games as well and honestly i just really hope that the dude doesnt end up quitting val and maybe he'll even change his work ethic and they can get him back on sen

He’s significantly worse performance wise than all of them, and all except Marved are IGL’ing as well

yea exactly it got to his head and he finally got the high of winning without trying. Im assuming he just doesnt enjoy practicing as much or maybe hes lost interest in the game? I really hate that argument and comparison cause zombs is completely different to half of those controllers. Also you named 4 controllers from 4 different teams, that doesnt exactly put zombs far down from the number 1 spot does it?
The argument that marved and zander frag out harder while being able to fill the role better is such a stupid one cause the way zombs plays controllers is that he anchors, HARD anchors. He doesnt allow any space for the opponents to get back into the game and thats why hes so dominant. Shahz has even talked about this before on a podcast where the reason why they often look like they throw towards the end of the game is because everyone is fast rotating cause they want the game to end but looking deeper into their games it looks like they all fast rotate throughout the game, except zombs. Once it gets close to match point thats when youll see him make selfish plays and try to go for kills to try to end out the game. That alone already shows how he is able to fill the controller + sentinel role even better than sentinel players can. Zombs also doesnt stat pad, thats why his stats looks so bad, cause even when theyre winning hard or losing, hes still playing that same style by holding the site properly not trying to go for the kills but to delay and to gather information.
Valyn and Vanity play a similar style but theyre sort of half and half. They do go for frags and they dont play nearly as selfless and i do agree that to an extent vanity is a little better than zombs but idk about valyn tho. I think valyn is quite ok
