i've seen this term being used here recently, what does that mean?
archetype [#4]bandwagon is where people decide to support teams/orgs/players because of a sudden surge in popularity, whether it be in fame or in results.
I like to think that bandwagon is if they do this, but then leave as soon as the first bad result comes. If they join at highs and stay through lows, that's not a bandwagon
PoohShiesty [#2]Zeta fans
I think that liking an underdog team isn't necessarily bandwagonning though? They've just had an impressive run and people like that. Especially since everyone was putting Zeta down at the beginning.

true true

Disagree
It depends on the intent. Why did they start supporting? If it was because the team was trendy then its a bandwagon regardless of what happens after. They may change their perspective and become an actual fan later so they are no longer bandwagon but originally they joined the bandwagon.

I'm just kidding, I love a good underdog story.

hm.. it is bandwagon when you start supporting a team because they became trendy, I'll give you that, but if you start supporting because they became good, it goes back to my original point
justron40 [#17]for example like when you don't know the root cause of the yellow-blue crisis but sided on the west just because what they show you. this is bandwagon.
Holy Based
Here's an example:
Let's say a random Brazilian team hypothetically named Loud with a neon green triangle logo starts performing well. Brazilian Valorant fans become big fans of the team and cheer them on. Some time later, the team doesn't perform well, loses to a few teams, another Brazilian team becomes more dominant, and then all of as sudden, those diehard fans leave and begin supporting another team, change their flairs, worship the new team's duelist like a greek god, etc. Cycle repeats. That new team begins underperforming after a while, a new batch of hungry youngsters become the best team in the region, and all the fans then flock over to this new team.
