Seriously, 1 Master winner 1 Master Runner-up. Biggest market/viewership , there is no reason Riot give NA only 2. Next Masters will have 16 teams, so they need to give NA 1 more slot
the most watched match in 2021 was EU vs CIS https://imgur.com/a/pwEZGlh there is a reason bro they got shat on at masters berlin and champs just like BR

lets be real , that match got drops for gun buddy and If SEN got to final, the viewership would be 1m3 at least no cap

this is so biased. this match was literally the grand final for Champions, the biggest and most important tournament of the entire year. if it was any other team, the number of viewers would be equal or even higher. if it was an NA team, the number of views could potentially rival LoL viewership, especially if it's between two rival teams (Sen vs G2 as an example).

yeah man they got shat on at Berlin, Envy only got 2nd KEKW
Even at Champions they did not get shat on, Sentinels were 2 rounds away from getting out of their mega-stacked group in 1st place, C9 made it to quarters playing close series against Liquid and Fnatic and Envy, the one team that did underperform, barely lost to X10...
DeluluGavin [#12]no way its actually 2 slots, where da source at

ipok6 [#23]good question. minor regions like SEA go through two masters events doing jack shit and keep their slots for champs, and Brazil goes through the entire year doing nothing and still gets 2 slots, NA has ONE underwhelming tournament and they lose a slot? absolute joke
Kr 1 slot, japan still tba, brazil 2 slots, NA 2, EMEA still tba according to liquipedia
Arisqq [#21]they did good at champs COPIUM
they underwhelmed compared to expectations but they absolutely didnt get shat on. the only region that got shat on at champs is JP and arguably brazil
DeluluGavin [#26]Kr 1 slot, japan still tba, brazil 2 slots, NA 2, EMEA still tba according to liquipedia
whats your point exactly
dignityx3 [#3]Riot games is fucking brain damaged is the only possible explanation to your question
I don’t disagree with your statement but at the same time I also believe NA isn’t good enough to deserve more slots at the given moment.
ipok6 [#31]whats your point exactly
oh shoot i forgot to put my next sentence. "its basically almost the same as masters 2 last year, kr still 1, brazil idk how but still 2 so i guess riot -for now- don't think a change is necessary which is quite questionable"

if they go back to a 10-team event like reykjavik ill have lost all hope in Riot. and also even if they do they should give a BR slot to EMEA 100%
ipok6 [#38]if they go back to a 10-team event like reykjavik ill have lost all hope in Riot. and also even if they do they should give a BR slot to EMEA 100%
i just want more teams playing in masters...
Larry [#32]I don’t disagree with your statement but at the same time I also believe NA isn’t good enough to deserve more slots at the given moment.
Is it really about deserving slots? If it was purely performance Japan wouldn't have any. I doubt NA 'deserving' two slots is the reason why they have two slots.
nikoya [#40]Is it really about deserving slots? If it was purely performance Japan wouldn't have any. I doubt NA 'deserving' two slots is the reason why they have two slots.
NA is trash atm that is why they got 2
Arisqq [#41]NA is trash atm that is why they got 2
maybe they deserve two, but that isn't purely why they got two.
ipok6 [#14]https://valorantesports.com/news/2022-vct-stage-1-challengers-na-primer/
Maybe there will be a Last Chance qualifier? Something like the play-in system for LoL Worlds?
emraaa [#45]Maybe there will be a Last Chance qualifier? Something like the play-in system for LoL Worlds?
well this is masters not champions so that wouldnt really make sense. "two teams qualify through challengers main event, then we have another tournament right after to determine the last teams to qualify" would just be dumb
Arisqq [#16]well a SEN vs KRU final can def get 2.5m ibai+all spanish streamers +SEN is so popular+drops
bruh LoL has like 100million global viewership in the world finals
ipok6 [#29]they underwhelmed compared to expectations but they absolutely didnt get shat on. the only region that got shat on at champs is JP and arguably brazil
how did they underperform? all teams made playoffs, 1 team in semis 1 team in finals. they argueably did better than emea as a whole considering one of the emea teams didnt even make playoffs
jimjam789 [#48]how did they underperform? all teams made playoffs, 1 team in semis 1 team in finals. they argueably did better than emea as a whole considering one of the emea teams didnt even make playoffs
champs, not berlin

Larry [#32]I don’t disagree with your statement but at the same time I also believe NA isn’t good enough to deserve more slots at the given moment.
Why not? If Brazil deserves 2 surely NA deserves more. NA has been by FAR the second best performing region behind EMEA.
sheahhhh [#53]emea didnt get less when they got deepthroated at iceland
Wasnt V1 worse then liquid and fnatic and then the Sentinels v Fnatic games were Incredible close??
Arisqq [#13]more like NA copium
Not saying Sentinels would have won or anything but it's undeniable they were the most popular (in terms of viewership) team of 2021
23_MARK_23 [#57]Wasnt V1 worse then liquid and fnatic and then the Sentinels v Fnatic games were Incredible close??
? v1 beat liquid 2-1
Aartanis [#59]? v1 beat liquid 2-1
In terms of final positions
liquid 4th
V1 5-6
Fnatic 2
Sentinels-1
valulrantefanboy [#6]lets be real , that match got drops for gun buddy and If SEN got to final, the viewership would be 1m3 at least no cap
The problem for that is they would have to reach the finals

oh yeah, i mixed up the final placements and results, but still i wouldnt call it a deepthroating xd it was really close

Yeah, I mean, NIP, MIBR, Liquid all invested on the brazilian scene. And also the biggest FF orgs invested on the val scene, with one of them building a dream team, plus we have VK from last year, 2 slots thinking about viewership and potential from the new teams is ok

i dont mind BR keeping 2 slots, but if NA loses a slot just for an underwhelming Champions then BR absolutely should lose one as well
ipok6 [#14]https://valorantesports.com/news/2022-vct-stage-1-challengers-na-primer/
thie one only says that there will be 2 slots for na in masters 1, not that there'll be 16 teams in there in total, unless i missed something
ipok6 [#68]i dont mind BR keeping 2 slots, but if NA loses a slot just for an underwhelming Champions then BR absolutely should lose one as well
Maybe 1 slot is going to OCE? Because of the LCQ fiasco? or for APAC, which will include OCE teams
they probably used champs as metric, comparing the expectations between BR and NA scene for champs:
NA were the only region to play toe-to-toe against EMEA, so they're expected to AT LEAST get playoffs, but they crumbled
BR were playing really bad and the expectations for them were low, maybe 1 win for each team and maybe 1 team to playoffs
BR played well against Acend, Gambit and Sentinels (the two finalists and the seed 1 from NA), got 2 wins but could've won all matches (except against SEA)
NA played bad against EMEA, almost lost to BR and crumbled to LATAM/SEA, which can be "unacceptable" for a major region who won the first international and achieved finals in the second one.
sumihiro [#71]Maybe 1 slot is going to OCE? Because of the LCQ fiasco? or for APAC, which will include OCE teams
definitely not direct to OCE since they go through APAC. i really doubt theyre giving APAC an extra slot just because it includes OCE now, since only one OCE team qualifies to APAC in the first place. even then i wouldnt want NA to lose a slot for that, NA is almost certainly way better than OCE
egg80085 [#70]thie one only says that there will be 2 slots for na in masters 1, not that there'll be 16 teams in there in total, unless i missed something
yeah it doesnt say that, OP added that in an edit and i dont know what his source for that is, id be very interested in seeing that source since i havent seen that said anywhere
