Yesterday we had this matchup in ranked and I think it gave us a glimpse at what 2022 stores for us with this matchup.
Early game: Sacy’s team started the game with an easy 7-1 lead, showing again why he is Brazil’s most solid player, great utility usage, multifraging, and calling shots for his team.
Aspas also started showing his wonderkid status, taking every duel and winning most
Mwzera having a bad day wasn’t managing to win almost any duel
And heat was throwing more than helping his team, solo pushing, getting one frag and then getting traded as jett.
Things started to change tho, heat showed how much he’s grown, sticking to his team, calling strats and getting easy picks with the OP, getting his team back to a 5-7 game.
After switching sides mwzera managed to get a 4k on pistol and regained his confidence, getting a solid 1K per round after that
Even so sacy’s team managed to pull back, aspas stated winning early duels again and after that sacy led his team in the mid round to a win with with 2 and 3K almost every round, getting the team to a 12-8 match point.
That’s when heat turned the heat back on again, getting 3Ks almost every round, not to mention an insane 1v4 clutch to save the game, they managed to pull it to OT where they won 14-12.
In the end, we could see sacy getting increasingly frustrated with aspas, as he kept solo pushing and getting killed early in the round by heat, during the 1v4 clutch he just straight up took the duel with heat alone instead of waiting back with the spike along with his teammates.
On and all, aspas showed once again his pure mechanical skill with the rifle, but his eargerness to take duels everytime even when against sacy’s warnings and terrible decision making showed that there’s still a lot of room to improve if he really wants to be considered one of the best.
On the other hand it is time we accept MW just isn’t as dominant as he was in 2020, the competition has improved and the games evolution has also taken a toll on his playstyle, he is now moving on to a support role which is clearly new to him, as his utility usage when compared to sacy’s on the other side is notidly worse. I still have high hopes tho, as he adapts better to this new style of play he may once again have a spot on the sun.
As for heat and sacy I have no words, both are clearly the best Brazil has to offer right now, sacy being one of the most solid players in the world, great aim game sense and decision making, meanwhile heat keeps showing how much he’s grown, remaining the best jett awper in Brazil and managing to control his aggressive posture and hang back more, even being able to take a leadership position for his team at times, I do think aspas has more raw rifling skills than him, and if he manages to grow up just like heat it will be great to see what their rivalry will produce in the future.
(P.S. waiting for the too long didn’t read, or don’t care about this shit region replies)
