EDG hate?

I haven’t been following the scene closely lately, but why is there so much backlash against EDG after s1mon’s departure? From what I remember, he was removed for not actively practicing - which, in my opinion, is on him. I do not know of any drama around him.
Even if EDG’s current performance has dipped since he left, I’m not sure keeping him would’ve been a healthy decision for the team in the long run. Personally, I don’t think he was that critical to the team to explain such a major falloff. It feels more like the typical post-champs slump that many teams go through.

Smoggy was competing with a high fever on the game vs BLG yesterday. Hope for a speedy recovery.

I think it’s a mix of people who rage bait and a mix of people who don’t know the full picture

rage baiting is cringe or just a getaway excuse

Why do you think it was mostly him? From my understanding, he wasnt doing as much according to coaches but that could be a lie lol

Aqua (EDG's manager), definitely handled it in a subpar manner. However, when a historically drama-free team in the form of EDG sees all their players coming out and making statements against the rookie, it's more likely than not that the rookie had made a mistake. This, and the fact that S1Mon literally went public on stream, crashed out, and his fans even ended up doxxing Smoggy.

You are not being genuine when you say EDG is drama free. They are suing their fans for hating online. Cmon

I don't entirely like the way the situation is handled either, but EDG sued their "fans" because they were doxxing their players. That is a reasonable step to take when the org is trying to protect their players.

The entire s1mon situation is a mess, and I don't think it was handled correctly by management or the players, but I would rather believe the words of 4 ppl over what 1 person said especially because they had good relations prior to the fallout

EDIT: they were threatening to sue, they didn't even end up sueing iirc. correct me if im wrong

I felt bad for S1mon cause he was removed from the team so easily. Let's say he did make mistakes, the whole team and management decided to just kick him instead of work things out which put him in a teamless shitty spot. He might've made mistakes but everyone just blamed him even when they were all the champion winning team which made me feel like they didn't value or respect S1mon as much.

i mean he straight-up was unhealthy as a teammate, not practicing -even after after winning champs- is both unprofessional and disrespectful towards the team. It's possibly the worst personality-to-have after a run like EDG's.
Even a single warning was enough for a "work things out".

Well that is if you completely believe what the EDG players said. From S1mon's perspective it was that he was being pressured to practice more than the other players of the team. Which is unfair in his perspective. He was being made to Practice Yoru cause Kangkang can't at the time. Everyone has their own take and I think its also valuable to give respect S1mon's perspective aswell. Imagine getting blamed for not trying hard enough even when you're practicing the same amount as the team. Look I don't know what completely happened but I still feel that it's wrong to make S1mon the scapegoat and put all the blame on him.

That could be the case, it's just hard to fathom that an org like edg would be so inconsiderate after winning the biggest event after s1mon's impact carried them the last mile.

cus they cut king s1mon and signed trash jieni7 and zjc to replace him . And instead of giving praise to s1mon for his work for them to win champs edg players shitted on him and ruined his career. s1mon knows Edg are Dogshit without him so he’s living his life nicely in contract jail

See the coaches said he didnt do things! I BELIEVE THE COACHES TO BE HONEST. THE HECKING COACHES ARE RIGHT. EDG PLAYERS SAID SO TOO HMMM I AM UNABLE TO FATHOM WHY THEY WOULD LIE SO IT MUST BE THE TRUTH.

The laughable lie that he didnt try to practice as he tried to secure a career in video game is level fallacy that you have to be lobotomized to believe, especially in China
